Both are better in their own ways. I don't look for what I expect from DA in ME, or the other way round. Bioware however, wants to make DA into a ME in fantasy setting. I despise that.
Other than the implementation of the dialog wheel I don't see how they are turning DA into an ME clone.
They took out companion customization in ME2. Did it exist in ME, yes. Did this exist in DA:O, yes. Does it exist in DA2? No.
They added dialogue wheel, voiced main character, they changed character interactions to places you can go to talk to them after certain points in the story, opposed to just go and talk to them whenever you want. Actually, even in ME2 you can talk to them when you want. It's just that for progress, you need to do quests. So actually, ME2 did better than DA2 in this way.
They turned the game more action oriented from DA:O. ME2 is very much more a shooter in terms of combat compared to ME. And combat in DA2 is definitely more intense than DA:O.
So yes, they are basically taking the same approach in terms of changes from the previous games. The problem is, DA2 lacked the story, setting and atmosphere of ME2. Also, it's a sci-fi. I can tolerate a more simplified approach there, but not in DA.
