So you aren't much of a roleplayer. That explains a lot.

He can be a great roleplayer. He just roleplays a retard.

Aaah yes, that clown. Representing everything wrong with nostalgia-tards and why people who play games are looked down upon.

Nice of you to take everything I just said out of context, twerp.

That has nothing to do with roleplaying. Roleplaying is about the characters and character progression, as well as character buildup with things like powers. Doesn't have anything to do with me just wanting to fight the guys that are obviously going to start shoot at me the second I show up.

Or an even better example. How about ME1, where you got EXP for all kills. It's in your favor to attack all the potential bad guys there, where in ME2, it's optional at times.

Now now. There's nothing wrong with roleplaying a character who prefers to talk with his fists/swords/guns/whatever instead of his tongue. However not even caring about the choice in the game indicates that one isn't terribly interested in rolepaying in the first place. Which makes me question whether they really care or understand what RPG elements actually are.

An RPG is not stat management it. It is world interaction and character control and growth. ME2, in contrast to what most critics say, still has plenty of RPG elements. We Shape Shepard's personality and morals (to a degree) as wel las his effect on the world and people around him.

ME2 was tilted in favor of combat, but the RPG was there. I just fear that ME3 will tilt it more towards combat than I'd like. ME2 was borderline.

As I said before, ME2 lacks any missions like Noveria or the Citadel.

There are areas where we only get dialogue and then for any assignment we have a linear shooting gallery. I want more variable areas like ME1 had.

None of that has anything to do with roleplaying.

Okay. Then none of the Mass Effect games are RPGs. Nice.

And another thread where traditionalists argue over what an RPG is or isn't. Don't bother arguing with them, Mass. There are some kooks (TK, G9, SD, TST) here who are wearing multiple rose-tinted glasses. It's like talking to a wall. Actually a wall would be more open to change.

And we're done here. "What is an RPG" threads are off-topic for this forum.

End of line.
