It seems to me that a lot of his critiques in this video can be explained by the simple fact that the game is still in development. For instance the omniblade doing no damage. The effects of the omniblade likely weren't ready for E3 just like the paragon/renegade bars weren't ready yet.

Yeah, that was dumb. For someone who at least sometimes shows to be intelligent, it was really low.

And about Shepard having two omni-tools:

As for whether it defraudes the rest of his arguments, that's totally up to you. I agree with someone's argument or I don't. The person's attitude is not relevant then.

To me definitely, which was my original point.  And while I don't find squee's question pointless after smud spends more that 7 hours on critiquing ME2 alone, the fact remains that it's all left up to taste. Subjective.

Smud feels the way he feels abou the series from his point of view.  He contests this by picking on the writing with plot holes and such, but many are so insignificant that they don't matter.  He argument about Shepards body is the perfect example. Smud explains that it broke his immersion in the story to have a moment that farfetched.  For me it didn't, even after he pointed it out. Subjectivity.

Example: Millions of people can flock to Transformers 2 and love it, while critics can come up with a long list of things thats wrong with it.  And even if many Transformers-lovers heard the critiques they would continue liking it, because it's just their thing. 

As for me, I'm going to keep liking the ME series regardless of what one guy on the internet trying to get under people's skins has to say.

MARKETING ≠ DEVELOPMENT.

Just because they're marketing it that way, doesn't mean the game is going to be like that in anyway, its like that with anything..
The commercials for the movie True Grit make the movie look like some sort of story about a "loose canon cop on the edge in the old west" when its nothing like that. The story actually focuses on the girl and how she's after revenge for her father's death. But, no one could've known that from watching the commercials and not reading the book.

I just wish you'd read the book so he'd know why they can't send probes through the Omega 4 relay.

The omni-blade will be explained in the Codex in the game, so don't wet your pants if some developer happens to use something like "holographic switchblade" to describe it. Not to mention that it's the most pathetic thing to whine about in the history of Mass Effect.

Well the omni blade is pretty much a rip off of the Energy Blade the Elites use in Halo Reach. Wouldn't be the first thing Mass Effect stole from another franchise.



The only difference is that ME's blade comes out of the omni tool, but it's pretty much the same.

I made a reference to Smudboy being BSN's Puck (for those who've seen Real World San Francisco). I've agreed with many points brought up by him and I find it awesome how much entertainment he generates just by putting up a review.

I might keep playing Bioware games as long as he's critiquing them. Hell of a lot better than the banal reality television nonsense. =D

Not really, just that franchise had very little if not anything new to offer with each game.

Then again Mass Effect 3 taking blades?

To be accurate, few days after I sign op on BSN. I disagreed with him, he insulted me( also he got temp ban few minutes later) and did that every time with everyone which resulted in his perma ban from BSN.

This is my question-

Why do people constantly put his videos up here? I don't get it.

Smudboy was banned from the BSN a loooooong time ago, yet people here STILL talk about him as if they expect him to come in here and read all of the reactions.

If you hate him so much, don't talk about him. That's it. Because the more you do, the more he'll love the amount of attention he gets from people he can't even speak to anymore.

And for those who like his stuff, go ahead and bring up the subjects he talks about, but I feel like you're waving around the name "Smudboy" just to get hits in your thread. Like its controversial or something.

Seriously folks. Where is the sense in any of this, really.
