Why is this thread even still opened? Pro-s/s romance threads get locked faster than we can blink but anti-s/s threads seem to be all reaching 10+ pages. We are ALL suppoused to discuss s/s romances in one thread, it should apply to the opponents as well.

It's because people keep posting in it. Like it's doing something.... :\\

They keep posting in pro-s/s threads too yet pro-s/s threads are cut short.

Basically. You liked how the story worked around Anders, I did not. I did not like the overly mushy romance. I did not collect 200 dollars, and I most certainly couldn't overlook the changes to a good character for a story that could've been worked a thousand other ways without involving Anders to such a degree. Whether it would be better or worse is anyone's opinion, but in my mind it would have been. What I like, what I've always liked and will always like about Bioware rpgs is their characters and not their cliche storylines. Yes, the characters are tropes, but the dialogue and the interractions are what do it for me. Take that away from me and it's just another game.

I think it's because Mods see a pro-S/S thread and think to themselves, "Nope! There's already a place for that!"

But then they see an anti-S/S thread and they think, "Well, better leave all the hate in one place" and then they let it run until it turns into trolling and ******. This takes about twenty pages, and then the thread gets shut down.

And I'm glad for it. I'd rather all the hate stay on these random threads and have them get closed, instead of the official pro-S/S thread getting closed.

Stereotypes suck.

Have faith in Bioware. Seriously. Try it. You'll be surprised.

Oh, I'm trying it. You'd have to hospitalize me permanently not to. I'm just a fan, posting on a forum with people not to get laughed at or argued with but to point out genuine concerns and help translate some of the other concerns.

I don't support those either. It gives me comfort though that I'm not the only one frustrated by people changing like that though. To again reitterate, I'm not against people being bisexual, not even Kaiden, I just don't want him to change. Him liking guys doesn't even apply to me, but if somehow be it him being a Spectre or Bisexual, that they change something innate in him for it all to make sense, IE: making him an **** or a wimp or whatever, I'll be frustrated.

So...in one sentence you say you don't like the changes Kaidan showed on Horizon..but seem to accept it more than if he were also bisexual in ME3?

Also, as ipgd brought up (I think)...your desire for them to write more 'stable' (as in, no controversial character dev) and palatable romance characters is asking for some pandering which affects how the characters are written outside of romance.

Those who want bisexual romance options aren't looking to change a character's core, non-romance story...and simply making them open for s/s shouldn't do that....at all.  They simply want to change a small part of the romance.

Neither are the people demanding him be s/s.

Bioware has altered characters like Garrus and Tali to appease their fanbase, even though it wasn't their intention to make them romanceable.

No one is demanding he be s/s or insisting that Kaidan is bisexual.

People interested in Kaidan are simply asking for the possibility of having him open for m/m in ME3 because there's nothing from the past that contradicts that possibility and then you have to consider the possibilities of coming out

Then people jump on them with statements such as, 'nuh uh, Kaidan is straight' so they are the ones making an absolute claim about Kaidan's sexuality and the burden of proof lies with them.  They can only prove that Kaidan likes girls, but can't prove he doesn't like boys.  So he could still possibly be bisexual but not necessarily so and we need more info...if they writers decide he also likes boys...then he does and he's bisexual.

So you're complaining about an option character because...what? He's not the way you want him?

...Did you really play DA2? Anders change was due to merging with a spirit of the Fade. Not because he was bisexual. He wasn't changed to fit some bisexual mold.

Yes, I really played DA2. And nowhere does it say that because a witty, sarcastic, humor filled character melds with an equally funny, yet somewhat montone spirit.. Has to be the most somber soul in the galaxy after seamlessly melding to the point that they are one. That, after he jumps the gun and confesses all his emotions for you openly you are able to swallow the cheesiness down in hopes that it gets better after you character pretends to be a masochist, the only person ever that one put up with such garbage, only to be constantly burried with it conversation after conversation. Not at the moment, no. But these threads always dissolve into "keep your gay outta my game!" and then the Mods close it down.

Kaidan likes girls. He also might like guys. We don't know. It's impossible to establish using the evidence we have.

In the absence of this evidence, he remains a viable option for S/S romances in ME3 if that's the path BW want to take.

As if that feminime was a trait strictly for gay men....

Anyway....BioWare as never done a character like this....so....could it technically be called stereotyping if they did?

I for one want a superficial gay man. It'd be awesome.

Wait, you got that from what I just said? No no, I said I didn't like those changes, and didn't say anything about the other ones. This is a thread merely discussing the bisexual concern. Again. It's not that I want more stable relationships, It's not about that, it was never about that. The concern is them changing stable relationships to make them more dynamic/interesting/bisexual/epic/choice of adjective here.

You people are pathetic.

If you were wondering why only certain people are supposedly "pandered to" whilst others aren't taken seriously, this is why.

Why because you people pound out you're thought process and tell anyone who doesn't agree are idiots who only think stereotypically about homosexuality until their breaking point to where they think you people are just plain stupid? Yea, sure I get that.

Grammar note: Its YOUR thought process.  YOU'RE is a contraction of "you are", meaning that you wrote "you are thought process".  That's gramatically incorrect.  Also, calling one person "you people" is also not gramatically correct.  If you intended to insult only me, you should have written "you are pathetic".

You asserted that most men are not bisexual.  I asked for a citation because your personal observations are not evidence.   You responded by insulting me.  Please note that I did not support or deny your assertion, I simply asked for you to provide evidence for your assertion that does not rely solely on your own personal experience.   If your beliefs are so tenuous that you feel the need to resort to insults rather than allow yourself to be engaged in a factual debate, perhaps you should re-examine your position.

Lucky for you English is my first langauge and that was just a typo otherwise you would have made a serious douche out of yourself. I didn't intend to insult only you I ment to insult every S/S supporter cause all of you act the same way.

What do you want me to do pull a bunch of numbers out my ass and we can argue those? Cause otherwise there are no facts its all relatively subjective.

Yes, they do. I fail to see your point. It's not Bioware's perogative to provide a roll call of every personality type under the sun.

The character and mannerisms won't change. When was the last time you heard Sbarge sound feminine?

Throwing around words like 'wimp' is hardly constructive. The character won't become a stereotype just because that stereotype exists.

Anders's humor was a facade to cover a lot of pent up hatred and turmoil. Justice was a single-minded personification of a black and white concept with little ability to function in the real world. Their merger was fire to an oil slick and exacerbated every negative aspect of eachother in turn. Anders's emotional instability paired with Justice's obsessiveness produced exactly what you see in the game.

Go back and play Awakening again if you really think the change was out of left field. Hell, just read about what solitary confinement does to a person.
