Ah no...some act as if pro-s/s fans hate heterosexuality and therefore want it purged from the game entirely.

That's like saying BioWare hates gays because they will never ever make a strictly gay romance.

People just want as many options as those who do the m/f romances...the options are already in the game and the only thing stopping them from doing m/m or f/f is a gender check.

Which makes no difference to his relationship with FemShep considering the fact that she's not a female turian nor does she look like one (based off the comics). 

He's not with her because she's female. He's with her because she's Shepard. He says himself he's doesn't have a humanfetish. I.E. her body holds no real appeal to him. It's her being Shepard that attracts him.

What? 

FemShep isn't his species. I never denied he was attracted to female turians. He says himself (since we want to go on about character consistency) that he's not attracted to humans. One would think that applies for female and male humans. 

He's not with Shepard because she's a female. 

Garrus *can* differentiate. There's no reason however that he'd *care* seeing as he's already going out of his preferences. Especially not since for him to make a move Shepard has to make a move first. So no he wouldn't care about Shep's gender considering the thing he claims he's attracted to is her character. And he's not attracted to her unless she makes a move on him.

So do all of the male LIs though; this, in my opinion, makes the decision re. male Lis a lot harder than re. female ones.  Ignoring the common factor of all the men being attracted to FemShep, we also have the following:

• Jacob had romantic history with Miranda
• Thane was married and has a son; his strong memories of his wife give the impression that he's still in love with her at some level (which doesn't, I think, lessen his love for Shepard; it's just part of who he is, with his history always staying alive for him)
• Kaidan loved Rahna in BAaT, thinks about the romantic archetype of exploring space to prove himself worthy of a woman he loves, and in games with ManShep shows that he appreciates Liara's beauty
• Garrus relieved tension with a female crewmate.

By contrast, Jack is known to have been in a threesome that included one woman and Tali has the suit-linking conversation with FemShep.  To my mind, they're both more plausible for S/S than any of the guys.  But, of all of the men, I buy Garrus sharing an intimate bond with ManShep most of all.  The elements mentioned in his story are all in a military context and emphasise his partner's athletic prowess rather than her feminity in particular.  A possible attraction to Shepard of either sex makes sense in my view.

I mean he does not express an interest in human females. He distinctly says he's not attracted to humans period. Male, female whatever. He doesn't do humans.

Agreed, but I really don't think a game about mass effect relays and faster than light travel is a place to quibble about certain degrees of realism.   I really don't understand why people are willing to suspend disbelief in the laws of physics for a video game, but will argue incessantly about how having a ship full of bisexuals "lacks realism".  Realism is being stuck on Earth doing a job you hate for less money than you are worth for people you don't like.   Realism is not "space opera is sweet, tantalus dive cores FTW, but don't you retcon those darn gheys!!!"  My 0.02 cents, and my opinion only.

But that's just an assumption, how do you know being female wouldn't be important? Being attracted to character  doesn't automatically mean you dismiss sexual preference. And there are many other characters that shep hits on first so that makes them as much a s/s choice as garrus in that case.

I'd say Garrus is pretty much straight.

Why on earth would Garrus be attracted to female humans despite saying he wasn't attracted to females? Really? Also that female you guys keep mentioning was a turian. Just like Shepard being attracted to Kaidan means she may not be attracted to Garrus means Garrus sleeping with that female turian means he's not attracted to human females. It's not a giant leap of logic. Everyone isn't a xenophile. 

Those other characters don't say they're not attracted to humans as a whole. Garrus whole romance evolves around him going out his comfort zone (other turians) because he respects and admires Shepard. Not because he's interested in humans.
