He can't get PMS in any form or fashion. He *can* get IMS. Just use that instead of using a word that WILL NEVER APPLY.
Since he's male he gets IMS.
IF he was female (which he's NOT) then he'd get PMS.

It is impossible for him to have PMS. He's not actling like he has PMS either. You'd know that if you actually ever had PMS.

She understood your tone. She is implying you are being ignorant and annoying by using it in such a context. You are, by the way. Ignorant and annoying, that is.

MGS2 was a masterpiece and I take great pity upon the filthy plebeians without the mental faculties to comprehend its depth and glory.

You are the most combative person I've ever encountered on these forums. And you sling out personal attacks for no reason, to boot.

No she's not.  Your assumptions are ignorant and annoying

It's a MEDICAL TERM.

Use another word. Use the PROPER word for a male IMS or just use b****y. PMS doesn't apply for anything other than females. It's not complicated.

They could (and probably will) introduce a non-asari bisexual character instead of picking someone who has already been written as straight.

Kaiden was written and voiced for a bi sexual role.  It was a director's cut that got rid of the s/s romancing.

Not to get into a shallow debate with you, because he was probably the least shallow character in DA2 with the single largest affect, but the romance was very lacking. The romance, I do consider to be shallow in everything from the ways the lines are delivered to the way that he literally leaps the love word at you freely and keeps throwing these I'll hurt you lines... And the only way you can respond is like.. Oh yeah baby I like to be hurt. I get that there's time skips inbetween each dialogue, in the form of years... But only giving you the dialogue where he's practically repeating himself with the love professing is just weak in my opinion.

Think about it for five seconds and even that is the antithesis of shallow.

The entire purpose of the Anders romance is to set up and then systematically deconstruct popular romance tropes. Over the course of the romance, it dissects and highlights the very negative aspects of those tropes (e.g. hasty romanticism and devotion as they beget unhealthy self-destructive obsessions). Rather than glorifying them, as is typical of the romance genre, it shows you how those ostensibly admirable things could go horribly wrong, and how unhealthy it is. It is pretty much a textbook deconstruction in the way it is handled.

This is all personal opinion. In the end it isn't up to any of us but rather Bioware. Everyone has an opinion on the implementation of s/s options in-game. And those opinions run the rull gambit of the spectrum. And since it is an opinion nobody is right and nobody is wrong...it is all personal opinion. The only time it becomes "wrong" is when people start telling each other that only their opinion matters and that everyone else is wrong because they don't agree.

Like the OP I don't think that Kaidan should be a s/s option. I don't think he should be one because he wasn't an option in previous games and I think that him being bisexual now and not before doesn't make sense (and it just seems tacked on). I think that for all the characters. Then again that is only my opinion and it is neither right or wrong. Some people feel differently and have interpreted some of the things he says in ME2 to be the opposite. That is their opinion and it doesn't make it right or wrong. It doesn't make is more or less valid than the opinion of anyone else.

So let's please stop all the fighting in the threads. Pretty please with a cherry on top.

I didn't intend to start a fight... just seems like the proponents of the Male Kaidan romance are itching for one, making personal attacks from the get-go. Or they're just so used to the fighting that they fail to perceive an attempted discussion as such, and not a flame against them.

I've experienced the attack from the get-go as well.  The best thing you can do is simply state your case and politely leave the conversation when people start to get heated.  This is same case for the fans of the same-sex Kaidan romance who feel like those against it are making personal attacks.  The best way to avoid an internet battle royale is to simply ignore the people trying to start one.

Now where is that cherry...I have an ice-cream sunday here that I want to eat and no maracino cherries.

People who equate discussions with fighting actually make me want to start fights more than the discussions themselves.

Can I borrow those rose-coloured glasses so I can finish my second playthrough of DA2? :innocent:

You know, after reading through so many of these threads, I really think a counter-thread should be made, one specifically to discuss why s/s relationships shouldn't be added to established characters...much like the thread that is specific for discussion on how to implement it and has no tolerance for posters who disagree with it.

Stated in the OP of the new thread could be: "This thread is for discussions on how it shouldn't be implemented and not for if it is or not."
This way, the forums could eliminate a lot of redundant threads. One side has their thread, the other side has their own.

Genius! :)

This thread has gone to hell in a hand basket. Is the verbal abuse really necessary to get your point across?

You weren't one of the people making personal attacks. Refer to those who entered the discussion before you.

Now who is being childish and combative, eh?

You could, alternatively, attempt to formulate a counter-argument to ipgd's position regarding the issue.

I always saw Kaidan as straight, but a m/m option is no skin off my nose. I'll keep romancing him with FemShep. I do think another character that isn't mutually exclusive with another character would be better. The number of players using the ME2 default is non-trivial, so a potential s/s option is dead without their input.

This is a marvelous idea. Then the people who argue in both threads can be sent to the one they should be in. Minimize unnecessary hostilities on both sides.

...except both would eventually be locked due to the aggressive nature of both sides.  It's a nice idea on paper, however.

No thats simply how BioWare work. They record every line imaginable and keep the one they want after for their character. They always did that.

Note: Not with you. Only the person who is throwing around terms like "ignorant" and "idiot." You're probably the only proponent who didn't stoop to petty name-calling.
