Adept. I'm currently doing a perfect paragon run of ME1 & ME2 to create a save game to import, and my Anya Shepard is an adept. Adepts are seriously badass.

Sentinel.
I played ME1 as a Vanguard and my first ME2 as a Vanguard, but I didn't really like the class in ME2 and tried it as Sentinel and loved it. So I'll stick to Sentinel unless some things are changed.

I am going to go adept all the way. I enjoy slapping those idiots with a singularity then hiting them with a throw and just watching them fly through the air and then fall to their death.

1: Adept w/ Assault rifles - complete dominance of the battlefield
2: Shotgun Infiltrator - so I can actually make good use of the cloak
3: Assault Rifles Engineer - What's not to love about charging a fortified position with a full team of combat drones?
4: Vanguard - Not my favourite, but still great fun.
5: Sentinel - Not bad for it's multitasking value, but I dislike the lack of focus.
6: Soldier - It's an action RPG, not an FPS. If I wanted to mow opposition down with only martial strength, I'd play a Battlefield game.

Not sure yet, but one of the BEST reveals, in my opinion, before ME2 was when they previewed each class and its changes from ME1. I hate spoilers, but I genuinely based my first playthrough on these demos and in fact, changed my class from the ME1 import. I'd like to see this again.

My canon is a Sentinel and personally, I think that's a great class for a first play. Well balanced, and has good synergy with all squadmates. And I'm sure that I'll replay that career about 3-4 times anyways, so I'm not worried about messing up my favorite career the first few times either.

For the two weapons slots, I'm going to stay true to my ME2 build and go SMG/Shotgun. It wouldn't seem right if all of a sudden I dumped my SMG for an AR when I essentially did the opposite in my ME2 career.

It all depends on what's new. All I've ruled out at this point is Soldier. My fav in ME2 is probably Sentinel, but I haven't actually given every class a real spin yet.
