A while ago I posted a thread about how mass effect 2 lagged. A lot. I had to move to PC because the gameplay was unbearable. A week ago I just purchased a new 360 Slim 250GB. I had played Black ops and Assassins Creed II on there in HD with no problems. I pop in Mass Effect 2 to see if that will run better with a newer console, and it's still the same issue. Laggy throughout, but more specifically during combat. Playing last stand on Arrival was ridiculous.

I tried many things to resolve this issue. I initially thought it was the HD, but every other games play fine, and AC:2 has more NPC's/Effects on screen at a time than ME2. I tried the gamertag recovery trick, and can't really notice a difference. I installed both discs to the HDD, still no difference. I switched to a wired controller, and while the game is more responsive, it still lags.

I've been wondering if it has something to do with the NXE update. Before I updated on my old console, ME2 ran smooth as butter. I didn't think to try it out before updating my console after getting a new one, but I'm wondering if this is the case. Even my dashboard lags sometimes, which leads me to believe this. However, ME2 is the only game that is affected, or at least noticeably affected.

I'm curious as to if anyone else has this issue or not. I would have expected the latest 360 hardware to be sufficient to handling this, but it's not the case. Am I the only one? Looks like I'll have to stick to PC for the ME series. Unfortunately.

A lot of people tell me they don't have the issue, but seeing as I just bought a new slim with more than sufficient amount of HDD space, it shouldn't be doing this. That's why I'm thinking it's the NXE.
