So after abanding the more or less sneaky side of things and deciding that protecting my allies is more important than anythign else (hiding isn't really protecting is it? XD) I started to look at the Vanguard, more speicfically, the Calymore Vanguard (unless someone can give me a decent reason to use something else like the Katana or Eviscerator).

My friend pointed out that a Soldier, why not being able to jump down the enemy's throat, jam a shotgun down it's throat and send them on their way to heaven/hell or whatever, the Revenant does a decent job of a close-range fight.

So with that in mind, what would be better suited? I'm tempted to try out the two handed tree on a future playthrough of Dragon Age:Origins (which then gets imported to DA2) so that's basically what I wanted to try out.

And can someone explain this shotgun trick to me? I've been trying to do it myself but It doesn't seem to work >_>

EDIT: OH and almost forgot, can anymore recommend some armour to use? I'm staying away from the Kestral set as I really don't like the look of it >_>

I am extremely confused. What is the question here? Soldier vs vanguard? I like the vanguard the most.

The shotgun trick? You mean the reload trick? Easiest way is to hold down the trigger and melee when you hear the reload click. You have to get the timing right or it won't work. I thought it would be annoying but very quickly it felt natural.

Right sorry! This heat is absolutely killing me over here >_>

I meant what would be better for close quarters combat. Or closish.but doing some more research by the looks of it I'll still go Vanguard due to the jumping down peoples throat.

which also means two handed warrior for me when I get to Dragon Age.
Now time to play ME1...again....ugh
