So it would seem Amazon.de accidentally shipped out about 180 copies of ADWD. So watch out for spoilers on the internet!

wow! can I buy a copy on eBay?

Seriously though... out of curiosity I checked 4chan and there seem to be some potential spoilers there plus pictures of the book out in the wild.

I only read one spoiler and looked away...but considering I had the Red Wedding and Ned's death spoiled its almost as much fun because you know something is going to happen and its intense waiting for the other shoe to drop and find out how the events happen. But I'd imagine the spoilers will start spreading around the internet quickly.

It's not up on ebay yet.

If I was one of the 180, I'd read it today and then sell it on ebay tomorrow

(or try to get GRRM to sign it)

well, unless there are spoilers in this thread, I doubt I'll see any. Tend to avoid threads about books i haven't read yet. And I don't visit 4chan.

Heh, the publishers were out asking fans not to spoil themselves. It's kind of funny. They must picture our millions of shining, expectant eyes glued on them.  :o

I'm not afraid of spoilers myself. I will have to try to bite my tongue on Twitter, though, lest I spoil anyone else.

Currently, I'm biding my time until ADWD comes out by reading by PoV. It's an interesting way to read when you've been through the books in order several times. I picked up on some details that I'd missed when reading straight through.

Theory Spoilers:

So far, I've read Arya, Nedd, and am halfway through Bran. The Tower of Joy makes so much more sense this way. I've finally jumped on the bandwagon of R+L=J

I'm making my way through again for a second time. Coming up to the end of ASoS. Go Red Viper!!!

Spoilers:

R+L=J makes so much sense to me now. But I'm wondering whether Meera and Jojen are really alive and not just spiritual mentors from Bran, they seem to be intent on doing everything he wishes of them.

I'm working my way through A Feast for Crows right now for the first time. I know its considered the weakest entry by many but (I'm only about 300 pages in) it is nice how you get some new perspectives on other areas of Westeros like Dorne. That said, since its basically half of a book it suffers from lacking the other main character POV's like Dany, Jon and Tyrion.

I think thats what was so brilliant in the other books was how all the POv chapters were balanced really well in that just as you might be getting tired of one POV or one area it would switch to somebody else. AFfC really doesn't have that feeling quite as much since you have so many new POV characters.

In my experience AFfC really grows on you because you get to see the interstices of grand events, what's happening with the little people and the secondaries and the Dorne sections are ultimately ace!

BTW Dreamsongs 1 & 2 are out on Kindle.  Is Dunk and Egg in Dreamsongs?

"The Hedge Knight" is in Dreamsongs II.

I never had any problem with AFfC. I missed Jon, Tyrion and Arya, but what is there is still good.

I just read the Theon sample. I'd read the others before.

Spoilers:

The Boltons are great baddies.

Oh boy! But that's Jayne Westerling the false Ayra, Theon's going to know... Or would the real Ayra have replaced the false one.

I wasn't going to read those in case they aren't "official," but now you tempted me. Holy crap. GRRM is a sick bastard, and I say that in the most admiring way possible.

I'm hoping the bastard prince on the Wall or the princess running around the world will die.

I've not read the sample chapters but do you mean Jayne Westerling (Robb's bride, who Theon never met I believe) or Jayne Poole, Sansa's friend and daughter of Winterfell's steward?

I demand both.

If only I could believe those trollish spoilers posted all over 4chan, or I'd be having a field day.

Eh, if memory serves Maria finds ASoIaF overrated. If so, her post is hardly shocking.

When it comes to Dany I feel ambivalent. I do not mind if she succeeds as long as GRRM makes her journey interesting, and he only has three books left to do it. Jon dying I might feel sad about. At least if he died in a horrible and unjust fashion as Eddard and Robb did. The Starks suffered enough already, dammit. :P And yeah, Jon may not technically end up being a Stark when all is said and done, but that is the camp I put him in for now.

Jon will end up king I bet and then he will die... or not!

Do you think he is part Targaryen?

I don't know what to think. I'm open to possibility he could be, but I'm hoping GRRM's background for him isn't so trite. That would make Jon a pretty damned cliched character if it's true--especially if he gets out of the story mostly unscathed.

But if his dad was Rhaegar Targaryen and his mom was Lyanna Stark and he ends up king and someone makes a song about it, then the name "A Song of Ice & Fire" will make sense and not be just a stupid name for the books.=]
