I don't hate Littlefinger. He's a survivor and at least he got rid of that Arryn wench.

He acts like a creepy molester when it comes to Sansa Stark.  So I guess you like molesters?

Just messin with ya.

And yeah......glad he got rid of Lyse Arryn.

Yeah, Lysa was messed up to begin with. Slipping into his bed while he was delirious and essentially raping him? Dude ended up playing her like a fiddle.
Still, I did feel some pity for her. Seemed so child like in her naivety before he pushed her. Reminded me a bit of Viserys before he meets his end. The Viserys scene was great in how it captured onto TV. The actor played him to perfection.

I'm still wondering what's going to happen to Sansa. I think I'm ultimately worried because she's the only Stark without a direwolf. It's been an ominous feeling I've had since that happened in book 1.

He's one of my faves personally.

He knows how the game is played and he's a pro at playing it. Also I quite like his love story.

Single-handedly instigating a massive civil war, resulting in the suffering and death of millions, just so he could get the husband of his childhood sweetheart disinherited, banished, and (most importantly) get their marriage invalidated so he could then pick her up on the rebound after having gathered enough power and wealth on the side to make a socially acceptable marriage proposal to a Noblewoman of her status.

It's so romantic ... in a twisted sort of way.

Who isn't creepy with Sansa? She's like a magnet for dirty old men with issues.

We've all been there.

My friends tried to tell me "No man, don't do it! Sure it'll all look like it's going according to plan but then before you know sh*t goes flip flop and suddenly the girl you went through all this trouble for is a zombie."

But like an idiot I went for it anyway and now I'm stuck with a zombie.

Sadface.

Well it is better than not trying or doing anything at all when it comes to love.:innocent:

Think this is worth reposting + a little reminder. Over at Tor.com, Leigh Butler is doing a read through of the aSoIaF series. It's basically from the perspective of someone who hasn't read the books before so it's interesting to see reactions and predictions. Plus, she's got a good sense of humour on her. Currently up to Part 4 of her Clash read through. You should check it out. :)

Anyone read this weird summary of Winds of Winter on Amazon's UK site?

http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/0002247410

Warning: If the product description is to be believed it contains HUGE spoilers, but I think it's total B.S.

Wow, that description really does seem to be horrifically bad, I truly hope that is rubbish. Tin-foil hat at the ready, maybe GRRM (or more likely the publisher) is going to troll people with that overly spoiler-filled description to build some hype or something.

Making wild, crazy theories is fun.

So, been reading more of A Game of Thrones (Finding it hard to read much between being obsessed with Skyrim and trying to get another ME playthrough ready for ME3) and started reading far too much into a couple of throw-away lines.

When Dany gets to Vaes Dothrak Jorah mentions a bit of prophecy about the city needing to be big enough for all the Dothraki Khalasars to return at once when called by the Mother. Now he's clearly referring to the Mother of Mountains, but the uniting of all the Dothraki seemed to be the first step of the prophecy about Dany and Drogo's son. I've read some theories that the prophecy actually relates to Dany, not her son, and what does everyone seem to call her now, the Mother. Given the end of ADWD it would be interesting if using her dragon Dany takes control of the Khalasar which found her (can't remember the name of the Khal off-hand), takes her forces and dragons to Vaes Dothrak, takes over, and pulls all the Dothraki back there and takes control of them. Never gonna happen, but that's why reading too much into things can be fun.

Another brief line is Tyrion mentioning that if he'd been a Dothraki child he would have been abandoned to die by the Khalasar. I'm thinking that the Dothraki might really be adverse to his presence and existance due to their traditions and way of life. I think that perhaps, the idea that Tyrion will reach Dany and become an advisor or more will not work out. There seems to be far too much working against him. Dany will likely hate him because of his family, I'd imagine Ser Barristan has a particularly low opinion of Tyrion and who else around Dany is going to think taking Tyrion into the advisory circle is a good idea? The Shavepate, perhaps, if he see's Tyrion's cunning and intelligence, but then again he might be against Tyrion for the exact same reasons.

Heh, and there are typos in it, too. But I wouldn't be surprised if that's the general plot. It would be about time.

Haha, yeah I've been reading this every week since she started with Game of Thrones. Its pretty entertaining and fun way to sort of get a recap of the events from the books, especially with the new season coming up.
Good stuff:wizard:

The thing that makes that description hard to believe is that at the end of Dragons, Dany is no where near Westeros still. Unless Winds of Winter starts after some sort of time jump, but considering how Dragons ended that would be more than a little anti-climactic, I'd think.

George Martin is a featured guest at a fantasy/sci-fi con in my home state, a mere 3-4 hr. drive away from where I live. I might go just to hear him talk.

Dooooo it.

He's not going to live that much longer, I'd take that chance.

Maybe he's hurrying it up a bit. Far be it from me to rush him, but I if he takes as long as he did writing AFFC with both succeeding books then he might not live to actually finish the series. Tolkien never finished The Silmarillion before he died, so maybe Martin's own mortality is playing on his mind.

The Amazon preview is probably from when WoW was the final book, so even if it´s true that´ll be the plot of the last book.

I´d rather he had kept ADwD as the title for the next book and left this one as FfC p.II, especially as the next book will have at least two dances of dragons.

So long as he doesn't get stuck and end up rewriting a bunch like he did with A Feast for Crows, maybe it'll get released in the next couple years. The HBO show should be lighting a fire under him on some level I'd think. Especially with the rumors being HBO might shoot seasons 3 and 4 (basically all of A Storm of Swords)back to back.

I'm doing it. I will get to meet the guy, and in my state, his presence will be an afterthought which means I get to shake his hand and chat with him. One of the benefits of not being in New York or some other overpopulated/festering area.

Thats awesome.

For all the crap GRRM might get for being fat/old/lazy/whatever, I always enjoy listening/reading his interviews and he seems like a nice guy.

With the TV show you might be surprised at how many people show up to an appearance. He gets them in the thousands now.

I have no idea why people criticize him- he's the most laid back guy and very good to his fanbase. Complaints about him being fat? Screw them. With "fans" like that who needs enemies.

So is there any Noble House you would like to find out more about in the next 2 books?

I'd like to hear more about the Daynes, Hightowers, and Dondarrions.

Having just finished reading the books, all I can say is... wow. Why haven't I read this earlier?!

Edit: It shows that DA:O was trying to be this, though it's a shame they moved away from that.
