Didn't GRRM say he wasn't adding in any new POVs? Or did I imagine that?

He was trying to do that as of ADWD, which is one reason why it was delayed until he realized he had to put in new POVs.  I think there will be less need for new ones as (hopefully) east will meet west and north south.

Hodor did get POV in ADWD... sort of.

Lol. Not a bad guess. I don't mind Brienne too much but Sansa is just too helpless to be interesting.

Yes indeed. Sansa is exactly who I had in mind.

I don't mind her chapters. Her character is a little dull

That's exactly where it stops for me, with Sansa. I feel like she's kinda dead weight; her younger sister is a lot more dynamic as a character.

I feel that way about Dany and Bran. Every time I get to a Dany chapter I start pining for Westeros halfway through it. There are exceptions in the first three books, but on average reading them can feel like a slog. Bran's chapters--especially in ACoK, were dull. The suspenseful bits were often overshadowed by endless exposition, psychic journeys and dreams, and copious food porn. He also has this weird personality that is in turns petulant and self pitying. As understandable as it is that a crippled child might act that way, it can sometimes grate. While it's never reached a point where I found Bran outright annoying as a character, I frequently sigh when his chapters come up.

Sansa chapters are random. Their quality is entirely dependent on who she interacts with in a given chapter. I found her moments with Sandor Clegane and Cersei Lannister pretty good; while her meetings with Dontos and Littlefinger were mediocre and squicky respectively. We are also introduced to the Queen of Thorns in a Sansa chapter. She is one of the more memorable supporting characters in my opinion.

Oh yeah, Littlefinger gets super creepy, man. Like I dig his whole "the one that got away" thing, but nine-year-olds, let's not.

Speaking of has anyone here, skipped Chapters in the books? Some of the POV's bore me to tears so to speak.

Nope, I read them all. Although whenever I hit a new chapter I often find myself either pleased or disappointed when i see who the POV is.

I'm gonna guess dissapointed would be Sansa and Brienne.

Neither of them as far as I am concerned. For me that was the case with Dany in (and only in) ADwD and with Bran while he was on his long and fairly unenventful journey.

Out of the two everyone always loves the obvious one (Arya), but Sansa has the most beautiful character arc I've ever read to be honest. I can't wait to see what happens to her.

I liked her stuff later on, since of all the characters I think Sansa has really had it as hard as anyone and she's managed to keep it together. And now that she's with Littlefinger, I hope she ends up as a foil to Arya's character development. While Arya is becoming a literal killer, it would be cool if Sansa became more adept at political wrangling and that kind of thing- being more cerebral .

Yeah, some of Bran's early chapters can be hot or cold. His chapters in ADwD (as limited as they are) are pretty interesting, what with Coldhands, finally meeting Children of the Forest and Bloodraven. Then with the whole sad fact he kind of wants nothing more than to live a normal life and he's likely going to end up like Bloodraven, more tree than man.

Haven't finished the series yet. Still working on the third book, but I always seem to dread coming to a Snow chapter. :P That's where I'm tempted to skip a little. I wonder if it's because reading his chapters always make me feel chilly. XD

And I agree with an earlier post on the GOT series! The first season was a bit closer to the book, with only a few changes here and there... I was a bit disappointed with what they did to Dany's story.

I find Danaerys and Arya chapter generally the most interesting. That being said, I feel that Sansa is starting develop positively, and is on the verge of being enjoyable. Also, in the last few books I am digging the "new" Jaime.

The hand seems to have mellowed him out some.

I dislike Arya's desire for vengeance personally and while I dislike Sansa initially I did end up liking her. Frankly she ended up as the only Stark ( besides Jon ) that I liked.

I dunno, I think that Arya's interest in revenge is a reasonable one. The Lannisters have caused a lot of suffering for her and people she cares about. And although she does dwell...well, she doesn't have much else to keep herself going with, some places. Her revenge litany is at least as understandable as Sansa's desire to prove that she's "being good" to Cersei.

Man, Theon Greyjoy is an ass. Just got to some of his chapters in book 2.

Just to see all her plans completely backfire simultaneously, have her true self revealed, it was glorious.

Some info from GRRM's appearance at MisCon, somebody asked him what Brienne shouted as Stoneheart was about to hang her in AFfC: "Sword!"

So Brienne swore her sword to Stoneheart and apparently Pod lives! I'm curious whether Jaime is as good as dead now or what Brienne and Stoneheart have in mind for him.

Cersei is doomed if Maggy the Frog's predictions are true, and so far they seem to be. I imagine she will lose everything she holds dear shortly before being killed. All things considered, I do not see a happy ending for any of the Lannisters. Their house will probably fall into decline the way it had before Tywin took charge.

Tyrion could be a capable leader, and Jaime is developing along those lines as well.

"Losing" Tywin and Cersei may set them back some, but they still have capable cards to play.
