Either that or the plan was to have Viserys marry off Danny to Drogo and take the khalasar on a rampage across Westeros and then have Aegon and the Golden Company swoop in and easily defeat the beggar king and take the throne. No one liked Viserys and with the political train wreck engineered by Varys the people of Westeros might welcome Aegon with open arms.

Granted, Danny taking over the khalasar and her dragons probably weren't a part of the plan. I'm half expecting her to never even make it to Westeros, her savior complex and inability to comprehend the political machinations of Mereen might cost her the Iron Throne.

Or it might teach her a few lessons. That's what I felt Mereen is all about; learning from her mistakes. That's why I was relieved when she decided to stay. She needs to learn how to rule before she sits on the Iron Throne.

No one will sit on the Iron Throne. The series will end with the common people of Westeros rising against the Great Houses, abolishing the monarchy, extablishing a constitutional presidency and compiling a chart of Human Rights.

Or Ramsay Snow becomes King and extablishes a reign of terror so vile even Joffrey would have considered it a bit much. Which is probrably more likely.

It was a hypothetical assumption

I seriously doubt she'll sit on the Iron Throne aswell, it's just too obvious it's *her* who's meant to be "destined." That **** don't work in ASOIAF.

Is anyone else expecting Aegon, another Targaryen who just magically appears is actually either one of Rhaegar's bastards or just some kid Varys had groomed to become king?

I believe Aegon is the son of Illyrio with Serra who was a Blackfyre.
My evidence for this is: it is said that the male lineage of the Blackfyres died but no mention is made of the female lineage suffering the same fate; Serra is described as having golden hair which is a distinguished Targaryen characteristic; the plan to hitch Aegon off King's Landing relied entirely on Gregor smashing the babe's head against a wall thus making him unrecognizable otherwise, they could just check the eye color and see that was not Aegon which, to me, not only makes Varys' plan quite flawed but it was too much a stroke of luck for it to be just that, luck; it would explain Illyrio's motivations; finally, in "A Feast for Crows", in a Brienne chapter, the old septon tells her the story of how an innkeeper had a black dragon over his door but one day it fell into the water and when it appeared again, it was filled with so much rust it appeared red.
Given the fact the Blackfyre sigil is a black dragon while the Targaryen sigil is a red one; that is as big a foreshadowying of a Blackfyre trying to make himself pass off for a Targaryen as I've ever seen.

Aegon, and Aegon not actually being a Targaryen, might have been foreshadowed as early as the second book during Dany's visions in the House of the Undying, and given what MisterJB said and certain other things, like Dany being named as the 'slayer of lies', I'm inclined to believe that Aegon is probably Illyrio's son by his wife, and that said wife is possibly Septa Lemore. I don't know about Aegon's mother being a Blackfyre, but I guess it would fit into the world quite well.

Aegon (foreshadowed heavily in book 2, once you know what you are looking at) has the right eye and hair color, so it´s much more likely he´s who they claim to be than not. Not all Targys have purple eyes and white-gold hair, but all who have them are Targys.
It would also be weird for Griff to take care of someone who wasn´t Rhaegar´s child.

It's noted that the brothels of Lys and other free cities are filled with men and women with purple eyes and pale hair colors, GRRM notes that the combination is not that uncommon outside of Westeros. In fact, I'm pretty sure the population of Lys is supposed to be generally composed of people who look like Targaryens. The nine free cities were once Valyrian colonies so it makes sense the genes would persist. There's also another family in Westeros decsended from Valyrian nobility, House Velaryon, who have purple eyes and silver hair.

It would also be weird for Griff to take care of someone who wasn´t Rhaegar´s child.

Unless he doesn't know either. Remember, he was exiled after he lost the Battle of the Bells and failed to catch Robert. He spent time in the Golden Company, then left and faked his own death when Illyrio approached him with his plan to raise Aegon. So not even Connington's been in on it since the beginning. It would be incredibly easy for Varys to spirit away a vaguely Targaryen looking child, with purple eyes and white-gold hair, and tell him it's Aegon's son. I'm inclined to believe this plan was concocted after Varys saw the infant Aegon's corpse was largely physically unidentifiable, rather than Varys planning it all without knowing how it all would end.

I'm personally a fan of the theory that Jon Snow is the son of Rhaegar and Lysanna Stark.

I'd rather him write the fight. There is no way I want that spoiled, it should be EXACTLY like the book describes it.

As Mammoth pointed out, purple eyes and white hair is more a trait of Valyria, not just the Targs. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out not to be a real Targ, since it was fortold in the House of Undyings. But this runs for a long time since Illyrio had been preparing him to rule for a long time.

Also,  what is the purple wedding?

Aye, THE fight will obviously come later in the season, but we already know he's writing Ep 2, so a GRRM written Champion vs. Champion fight between The Mountain That Rides and The Red Viper is not happening.

Joffrey's wedding, though I've truthfully never heard it given a name like the Red Wedding before.

Actually fans do call it the Purple Wedding. I am not really into the fandom of ASoIaF, but I know that much.

Don't know who first called it that or why tho.
