Dany's sense of entitlement will cause her to invade Westeros with Ironborn, Dothraki, Unsullied and Dragons, killing off the surprisingly competent and well loved Aegon VI because she has to sit the throne. Seriously, once Aegon sits the throne (and I believe he will), I think he will do a good job. And there will still be people applauding Dany for it, as a Stannis fan I know all about rabid fanbases, but still. Dany is perfect no matter what she does to some.

I also doubt she's AA. Jon Snuuuuu is still my pick for that. Prophecies tend to come true in this series, but never in the way you expect. Dany being hailed as the messiah by Aemon was great misdirection by GRRM because it's easy to buy. Dany, the 'last' Targaryen, heiress to a foreign throne, mother of Dragons, Khaleesi of the Dothraki and conqueror of Slaver's Bay. Compared to that, no one would suspect that the messiah is a bastard freezing his ass off at the Wall.

Jon Snow is a self assured pretender, Aegon is a fool's tool, Dany is dumber then a bag of rocks when it comes to leadership.

Yup.

There can be only Stannis.

Jon Snow is a self assured pretender

how can he be self-assured if he isn't aware of his parentage?

I don't think she'd kill Aegon unless he tries something first. When they learn of each other I believe they will join forces.

I don't see anything in Jon that would lead me to believe that he's the one. Arya seems more likely than him. Dondarrion as well. He was my first choice actually. The Asshai and their fire god are heavily into magic and Dany has 3 dragons whose mere existence is returning magic to the world. Seems pretty obvious. Maybe too obvious like you say but we'll see.

Just about everything in the universe could apply to Jon Snow, Azor Ahai, PTWP. one of the heads of the dragons

She won't kill him in cold blood, certainly. But Aegon is trying to present himself as a champion of the faith, the true born son of Rhaegar. Noble, young, gallant and all for peace and stability. (I believe Varys was talking to the HS as his audience in his monologue to Kevan)

Then Dany strolls in with Ironborn, Dothraki and Dragons and Aegon just says "okay". Won't happen. Dany wants to bathe Westeros with the blood of half the great houses and one of the remaining few will hold a grudge against her (Dorne, because of Quentyn).

It might've been an appealing idea had Aegon not decided to invade Westeros immediately, but he may well be King or considered close enough by the time she gets there.

Aegon will have to choose between his family and his realm. The realm won't stand for a Dothraki warlord with Dragons and Ironborn, especially since there's already a Targ with a better claim in play. I think he'll choose the realm. And his reward for choosing to defend Westeros will be a live funeral pyre.

Why did you quote my post? It doesn't seem as if you've argued against anything that i've said...

lol Did you read my post? There's nothing that says that she's some messiah and furthermore, a lot of the "tough decisions" she makes for the most part really have nothing to do with her survival. Killing kids, collective punishment, region destabilization, etc.

OR Dany shows up and they unite forces to fight the Others after conquering Westeros.

Dorne isn't going to get all up in arms over her refusal to marry some guy she just met. What happened to Quentyn was unfortunate but he shouldn't have tried to steal her dragons. The Prince should have simply sent her a message saying that Dorne will ally with and support her in her endeavors. Easier that way and far less dangerous.

She may not be AA but I believe she is. You believe otherwise and that's fine.

The decisions I was referring to are not only the ones she has made since aquiring her army. Her decision to adapt to Dothraki culture and suceed at their rituals like forcing herself to eat that horse heart and sleep with that pedophile brute instead of running away or something. Her decision to enter that sorcerer temple and then successfully defeat them instead of simply refusing their offer. Her decision to leave the first fertile land her men had found and travel to the city instead of staying put and possibly establishing her own little kingdom. Her decision to enact the ritual that woke her dragons. Her decision to put up with her insane brother as long as she did. It is entirely possible that had she made different decisions that she could have ended up dead or worse. Considering the position she was in when we are first introduced to her character i'd say that she's done pretty well for herself.

Viserys wasn't insane.  He was an entitled brat who thought too highly of himself and had little in the way of morals or scruples, but I wholeheartedly believe that Martin intends to throw a curve ball and have Dany end up being the loony.

Aerys II started of promising as well.

I meant so far as the prophecy was concerned, if he turns out to gary sue targy i'm sure that will work out wonderfully for him.

If R+L does indeed = J, I'll bet Martin turns the trope around by having the audience find out about his parentage in no uncertain terms, but not Jon himself. Either that, or Jon will flag zero interest in the Throne.

Basically, have this massive game changing twist go nowhere. Because it's not in his character.

Last summer George R.R. Martin mentioned February 2015 as a probable release date for, "The Winds of Winter". According to this: http://www.vcpost.co...me-together.htm it may not even be published this year.   Why am I not surprised?
I hope this is a mistake. If not, oh well...

Edit: Thought I'd add this too: http://grrm.livejour...com/395189.html

Really?

GRRM said he would complete a novel quickly?

Why would anyone believe that...

He probably could complete it quickly, but there'd be some cuts to make and knowing GRRM ...

February 2015 he said?

October 2017 release confirmed.

But Martin isn't so bad really.

Try being a fan of Berserk.

Martin gives you 1000 pages of material at least.

We get 120 pages a year if we're lucky xD

It did. Without it, Winds of Winter would've been released in 2025.

The reason the show isn't as good as it could be is because of the changes made.

The show is really going to end up sucking balls once they start writing the series with nothing more than a frame.

Changes have to be made due to the medium switch.

For the show, we no longer have direct access to what the characters are thinking at any given time. Which leads to less depth overall, and certain things having to be entirely changed (or in some cases added) in order to keep some semblance of coherence.

That may be true in some cases, but things like "Podrick the stud" and "Theon torture porn corner" aren't exactly what I'd call essential additions.
