Why thank you, I'll just be over here desperately looking at every preview of Winds of Winter which has been shown thus far.

They're all pretty solid chapters.
"Mercy" is the one that's stuck with me though.
I just finished all the books published!
God I can't wait until the next one comes out...
*Checks estimates*
*cries*
The wait is long.. so very long!

That's what bros do!
Now if it were so easy to encourage GRRM's brain to work faster..
The wait is long.. so very long!
Winds of Winter is coming.
Maybe the first draft? xD
Now that's much more realistic! ![]()
Some of you have been waiting for The Winds of Winter longer than I've been a fan of ASoIaF. In my country they started translating the books in 2012 and the translated A Dance With Dragons will be released sometime this spring. ![]()
Okay I just heard a theory today:
So has any one else seen this?

I'm going to give a spoiler warning even for Book readers here, because it gives glints and clues as to what might happen in future books.
Anyway I think it's very interesting to see how massively the books have changed. And to think Martin thought he could fit all that into one book...
I caught that the other day. Gave me a good chuckle. I am *so* glad this was not the story we got. Although I do wish his original three book plan remained intact. Would have been nice.
Some of his original concepts were terribad. A perfect example of why you never go with a first draft for any serious work.

Do you have them? I can't seem to find them all.
I've read Arya's, Theon's, Arianne's and Victarion's.

Actually I've only read Arya's, Theon's and Arianne's. Where did you read Victarion's?
Anyway I've heard there's a couple of chapters for Barriston and Tyrion, but I don't know where to get them.

Yeah, the best writing advice I have ever been given was from my English Teacher: First drafts are always ****. Never be disheartened when you realise that your first draft is bad, it happens to everyone.

Now I'm sure whether I read or heard GRRM read it. I remember it was about Victarion approaching Meeren and selecting three men to blow the Horn. Each would blow it only once, hoping this will allow them to survive unlike Euron's slave.
I have heard the same.

That would be epic. I now hope this plays out.

She may not be AA but I believe she is. You believe otherwise and that's fine.
The decisions I was referring to are not only the ones she has made since aquiring her army. Her decision to adapt to Dothraki culture and suceed at their rituals like forcing herself to eat that horse heart and sleep with that pedophile brute instead of running away or something. Her decision to enter that sorcerer temple and then successfully defeat them instead of simply refusing their offer. Her decision to leave the first fertile land her men had found and travel to the city instead of staying put and possibly establishing her own little kingdom. Her decision to enact the ritual that woke her dragons. Her decision to put up with her insane brother as long as she did. It is entirely possible that had she made different decisions that she could have ended up dead or worse. Considering the position she was in when we are first introduced to her character i'd say that she's done pretty well for herself.
Her time in the Dothraki culture was pampering compared to what most people (never mind the fact that she's gifted with a loving husband) have to endure and ends up with her inviting a superstitious shithead, who's village just got wrecked by the Dothraki mind you, to save her "sun and stars." Her decision to enter the sorcerers' temple was aided by her dragons, which were handed to her on a silver platter. Her decision to not "stay put" isn't so revolutionary considering the immediate dangers she was facing at the time; I question her decision to repeatedly sack cities that were in peace with each other. Her commencement with the ritual again wouldn't have happened without the dragon eggs that were handed to her (and that was when her options were as limited as they were). Her insane brother? A means of survival. Yet, none of this changes the fact that she didn't have to go about sacking cities or carrying around that sense of paternalistic high-horse imperialism that has seen innocents killed in a place where her reign lacks legitimacy. Or her exasperating taste in men (well, Daario mostly). Or her surrounding herself with yes-men. Nevermind that her character is dull (I'm on another re-read of the books and her chapters? Just shoddy). Or not even engaging Westeros for 5 books now. Oh, there's more than a few things wrong with Daenerys.
Oh, and as for the original plot of A Song of Ice and Fire, that was terribad.
Oh, and hey, a release date for the Dunk and Egg collection:

Just for those who are interested.
Lol, Arya tormented by her passion for Jon and Tyrion competing with him for her affections after burning Winterfell.
