I have read the ME3 known features topic here and I have read something that does disappoint me a bit: Cerberus making up to 40% of our enemies.40% is a big percentage. This is the last game in the Commander Shepard trilogy I am expecting more variety in our enemies. I don't want Cerberus to have such a big role.I fear Cerberus has be to chosen to be one of the main vilains to facilitate the story and also programing.I want to fight unknown enemies from previous Reaper harvests along with Reaper modified species we have met during our adventures.

As long as 40% of the rest of them aren't Mercenaries I'll be okay with it. It's bit much but I'll deal with it.

I don't know if it's been specified if the 40% is % of enemies, % of encounters including Cerberus, % of missions including any Cerberus, % of main missions, and so on.

Plus, numbers subject to change.

I am. If they had that kind of manpower, why the heck did they need Shepard for in ME2? They could have sent that army, and their flying boots plus giant robots (and where was my flying boots and giant robots?) and took care of the Collectors.

Better than ME2s 80% mercs 15% husks  5% collectors and 0.2% other......

We should be grateful that were getting more STORY enemies.

I can't remember who confirmed it but a dev said they'd be about 40% of the enemies.

I'm just hoping they come up with more than 6 or 7 enemies this time.

I was really disappointed in ME2, especially since of those 6-7 enemies, almost all of them fight identically and are effectively just reskins as far as combat goes. You've got normal fighter (Mercs, Collectors, named characters, Star Wars Droids), Animal/Husks, Krogan, and big-robot.

Come on, it was more like 80% mercs, 10% husks, 5% collectors 5% other.

I doubt Mercenaries are going to be huge in numbers I think Cerberus is going to replace them in a way

It does seem a little heavy, 40% could well be more than combined reaper forces. At any rate it means the Cerberus side of things is a major part of the plot. But I wouldn't take the 40% as gospel, it was an offhand estimation, and we don't know the context either.

A Dev mentioned here in the forums during E3 that there's something like 7 different cerberus enemy units to fight (he listed them even).

Now consider there's (probably) close to that many different Reaper infantry units (all the different types of husks and other reaper units we haven't seen yet)... combined with the various mercenary types.... plus the various geth units (saw at least 3 or 4 different Geth units in that 'leaked' early gameplay footage)... plus the various different mechs.... etc etc.... I think people are making / worrying too much about this.... it seems there will be considerably enemy unit diversity.

I am not dissapointed... just think it makes little sense.
You kind of don't make 2 games saying that an organisation is shadow ops, small organisation, secretive and **** and in the third make them a bloody army.

Cerberus consisting of even 0.1% of the enemies is a let down for me.

They're an army that can invade the friggin Salarian homeworld of all things. It's ridiculous.

Depends on what the remaining 60% consists of.

Cerberus sudden number increase does make us wonder how they managed to do so in such a short time.I guess having them successfully invade the Salarian homeworld could be explained to the fact of them taking advantage of the Reaper invasion and the Salarians' confusion to barge in.

I was a bit miffed about it- but then what was the percentage enemies were mercs/mechs in ME2? If it was similar then it may not be as bad as I'm thinking it will.

I just don't see why Cerberus has been getting more and more focus as the series progresses. I never found them to be that interesting compared to the other races, groups and factions in the games.

40% is overdoing it I think. ME3 is supposed to be about fighting the Reapers, not a generic evil terrorist organisation. There are enough games that focus on that.

Would you prefer 40% of the game fighting charging husks?

The OP fails to mention (and other have pointed out) is that there will be more variety this time. Yes it may be a large percentage, but if the combat is varied then its not a big an issue as it appears.

Also what would you replace it with? Fighting Mercs like the Bluesuns would be strange when your fighting for the Galaxies survival.

"Husk" seems to be a term for reaper ground troop. They will not just be the run at you humanoids you saw in ME1 and 2. There is a huge avenue for creativity here. I would like to see more than 40% fighting them.

good point. for a second i thought cerberus would atleast have good variety in enemies, but i forgot its a human organization. im sure within a short time ill be sick of killing more cerberus agents. im sure theyll all be wearign helmets too.
