i had ashley in ME1 and liked miranda more in ME2, and i'm not sure i want either of them anymore. although ashley... spectre now... >:3 but still can i just abandon both of them and go for tali or something? i don't want to have to take sides, i'd rather treat them equally by pissing them both off
You ASS
seriously though that could be even harder to achieve maybe it is not imposible but it will be hard IF they make it an options

It will likely just pick up and you have to "choose" like a true love story.

As I said so many times on these forums - using term cheating is utterly incorrect. I just wonder why devs keep using it. Is it to force in something that actually didn't happen for majority of Shepards out there? The only situation where we can have cheating is with Liara - doing LotSB, choosing to stay in romance with her and then b4 Suicidal Mission jumping in bed with someone else, but for VSs, there's no cheating. And those famous emails that ashleymancers and kaidanmancers keep pulling out as an ace from the sleeve - there's nothing in those that implies - we're together again - just a hint of possibility that it might happen, some day. Or do story designers strive for another Dynasty or even some Mexican telenovela stupid love plots?
Exactly.
The only way for your character to cheat in Mass Effect 2, was after the release of Lair of the Shadow Broker. Depending on what order you do Liara's mission, it is possible to either cheat on her or your ME2 LI. If you do LotSB before beating the main game it is possible to rekindle your relationship with Liara, and then go on to cheat on her with one of your ME2 squadmates. Or conversely, you can save the LotSB mission for last and cheat on your ME2 LI with Liara, if you haven't broken it off with that LI first.
But they are the only two instances where it is possible for Shep to cheat on his love interest, and Bioware was using the 'cheating' label long before the release of LotSB, when there was no doubt that everyone's Shep was single in ME2.
Outside of those two istances, the cheating label does not apply.

Not at all. Tali/Garrus may play a card "but I knew so little about human romantic behavior, I thought you were friends!", and Horizon scene may be interpreted as "VS had a crush on Shepard" with wrong assumption "Shepard didn't respond". So when ME2 LI will find out, the question "Wait, Shepard, do you sc**w everyone under your command? So, who'll be next after me?" may be very likely asked.CheeseEnchilada wrote...
I'm not sure why you would lose your ME2 LI. For all accounts, the relationship is over. All of the LIs (minus Thane) either knew about the relationship from ME1, or could be on Horizon and witness the encounter. Unless Shepard tries to initiate a threesome or says something equally as stupid, or cheats with Liara again in LOTSB, then I don't see why your ME2 LI would leave you.
If Shepard admits they still have feelings for the first LI? Then yes, a charm/intimidate moment could pop up. Otherwise, you'll probably lose the ME1 LI unless you pick them, and keep the ME2 LI without a problem.

Come to think of it, seeing as there are quite some bugs with choices in ME2 (Conrad, Consort) this is going to be hell in ME3.
