The best way to handle s/s romance with ready-existing characters in ME3 is to have the content
be accessible only if the player decides to pursue it himself/herself, and is not initiated by the characters. Sure, the characters may give indication that they are homosexual, but aside from that, NO COMING ONTO SHEPARD.

This IS a matter of characters. I'd be indifferent to content regarding James Vega coming onto ManShep, as that would mean his character being gay is an established part of his personality. However, if Bioware want to make
Kaidan or Garrus gay, I don't ever, EVER want to see that content unless I decide to pursue it.

Also, no, as sexuality doesn't alter the character's personality bi Garrus will be Garrus, Bi Kaidan will be Kaidan, by Ashley will be Ashley, bi Miranda will be Miranda. The core of the character will remain.

EDIT: Look, I'm not against s/s LIs, but I am genuinely scared for characters I like. I don't want any s/s content for my playthrough. I don't want the backstories of the characters to include a gay section. Before you delude yourself that this is the "stereotypical gay" , keep in mind that the writers of the romances really seem to know little about writing about romance.

To be fair, the reason I say that DA2 ruined Anders for me is because they severely fvcked his character up and didn't get Greg Ellis to voice him like in DA:A

Edit: Shouldn't all these threads be telling you that people are actively worried about this sort of thing? We all know what happened with Anders and the Dragon Age 2 fiasco.

All the other threads are generally just ****ing about how "NOOO I DONT WANT MY CAHRACTR RUIND BCUZ OF THE GAYS" or "WHY DO YOU PEOPLE WANT GAY SEX"

I just wanted to make a thread that expresses the concerns of the heterosexual section (probably not the right way to classify us, but bear with me) in a clear way and that shows how s/s romances should not be something that is tacked on.

Many of you say "But Tali and Garrus were made into LIs! Why can't we have homosexual romances?". While that is a decent argument, you're forgetting that Garrus and Tali's romances were done horrendously, and damaged their characters to some degree. Now, I'm not a fan of ruining characters for the cries of a fanbase, and if this s/s business is what will cause that, then I'm fully against it. We already can't trust the writers to handle a heterosexual romance, how can we trust them to handle a homosexual one?

I believe that trusting the writers will give betters results than making a pointless thread.
