One, I already said I hope Bioware stay true to their word, though you will understand if I don't exactly trust them after DA2.

Second, Tali DID initiate the romance dialogue. The player should have been the one to have to start it, not her. Bioware should not have pushed her onto the character through Kelly's comments. If it's "reactive" in the same what that Tali's romance was "reactive", then no thank you. The original characters should never, EVER express their interest unless Shepard prompts them.

Seriously, just stop it. You just want it to keep on going forever because it suits you to dismiss Casey's statement as "ohh they're lying, they won't do it anyway, I don't believe them!". This thread was transparent as hell from the get go and you keep proving you're not interested in any discussion but just want to have your opinion constantly bumped so (like you said) it makes an "impact". Ridiculous.

Honestly, it's awfully artificial to have all flirt dialog be player-initiated. How about leaving it up to the character? Like Ashley's going to wait around for someone to flirt with her first? I don't think so. Kaidan, on the other hand, wouldn't flirt with anyone who doesn't show a clear interest, and neither would Garrus. Thane would start in with the "siha" business even if you break wind while talking to him, so yeah, he's not going to hold back. Jacob, well, he's not about to go looking for trouble, and good luck trying to get to know him. Miranda, well, now Miranda might flirt first, or she might not, it depends on what she wants. If she thinks flirting will help her get what she wants, she'll flirt, otherwise she'd use a different tactic. Jack is as likely to shoot you as flirt with you, so it's anybody's guess what she'd do. Kelly will always make the first move, but it'll be a nice, sweet move.

Oh for Christ's sake. I never said they were lying, I was expressing my distrust in them.

I never said anything about making an impact. I was only constantly bumping my opinion because people didn't understand the point of this thread was to express concern over s/s romances. If you seriously believe Bioware will actually handle s/s romances well, then that's fine. But I'm not trusting them. No one should trust them. They've proven more than once that they are bad at writing that sort of thing, and I don't want characters I like to be hurt because of it.

I'm tired of this discussion. I'm not coming onto this thread anymore. I'm starting to get a headache and I know I should have listened to myself when I was telling myself that it would be pointless.

I can see arguing is impossible because mostly everyone believes Bioware is some kind of genius company that does everything right. Don't come crying to me when this ends up badly, which I really, really hope it won't.

The end.

Okay, I see what you mean. But I hope that it doesn't come up when we just start a conversation with them, or if we are being paragon with them.

If I have Garrus/Kaidan/Thane/Jacob going gay on me I will be pissed.

Note I say gay, not BI-sexual ( given Garrus mentions how he had sex with a female once, Kaidan loved a girl, Thane had a wife and Jacob almost got a relationship going with Lawson ).

Personally i dont mind if an npc hits on me or not, no matter the gender. In fact its quite satisfying when people hit on you, bit of an ego boost. A simple no thanks or im not gay reply can deter advances you dont want and flag yourself as offlimits ingame to any others.

The thing i dont like is when characters have no direction or are changed to appease some customers. To me someones sexuality helps define them and having npc's with a defined sexuality improves their character. I also find it more realistic, and thats what most of us want in regards to npc.

DA2 failed in its romances because imo all romanceable characters werent fully defined other than Isabella who describes herself as open minded and a flirt. The others were just so weak and imo lacked direction.

I do think there should be more s/s romances in games, but that doesnt mean make every romanceable character available as in the end it makes them lack direction, is unrealistic and is just cheap.

To appease the majority they should skip the gay options.

Trying for your little thread to come across as something with the slightest bit of relevance when in fact it had been proven wrong one month and a half before its creation is pretty pointless, yes.

That's too scary/eeky to some people, so Bioware has to compromise and make things awfully artificial so those people don't throw the computer screen out of the window and leave the room screaming.

Yes you did. Page 11:

Regardless, posting on page 27 of a thread that would go on for 79 pages wouldn't really have any kind of impact whatsoever.

BTW, you ignored my response to your question "why wouldn't they have expressed these feelings beforehand?" twice (pages 13 & 15, you were posting on both). And you keep wondering why I know you ain't interested in any discussion?

Actually, the majority wants them: social.bioware.com/110/polls/1358/ Ooops. Now look who's in the minority now.

Nope, she's easily the best-written romance in the game.

But except that's not true. See the poll in my sig and you'll see that majority on this forums is for S/S. Outside forums,I think most people won't care either way. Of course, there will probably be some people who actually will refuse to buy the game because it's against beliefs, but I don't think there is many of those. As much as we complain, most of us will buy the game no matter what.

Hopefully, they make it clear whether it leads to romance or not. Just because I want to know more about them doesn't mean I want to shag them.
