The problem is that some people don't want to see that content. Ever. Like I said in my above post, if it's Shepard that talks to the character about it, that's fine. But aside from that, I don't want gay content appearing outside of any interaction in which Shepard doesn't initiate the content.

That's not the point. You're the one being narrowminded. I'd be fine if the gay content is content that I'd never see at all, but if the CHARACTER initiates the discussion or tries to come onto the player, then that is content that some people are uncomfortable with. It doesn't matter if you are comfortable with it. Some people just don't want to see a character they admire ask Shepard out on an s/s date, especially this late in the trilogy.

If Shepard initiates it though, if Shepard is the one to pursue the s/s romance and the character never speaks of his or her gay sexuality outside of conversations in which Shepard asks about it, then I would be much less hard pressed to reject s/s romance. It's content people just aren't comfortable with.

It's times like these that I wonder if anything would be different if Asari looked like males.

Bioware already stated somewhere that romances will be initialized by you. As for homosexuality, grow some balls, will ya? It's goddamn video game and no one forces you to partake in OPTIONAL content. It's there. So ****ing what?

I'm just trying to express my concern here. Tali fauned all over Shepard in ME2 mostly because of how badly the writers handled her romance. I know I shouldn't but, imagine if Kaidan is fauning all over Shepard in ME3 in the same manner? 

Or imagine he turns out like Anders. Some people thought that DA2 completely destroyed his character, and I can easily see why. I hope you s/s romancers get what you want, but I also hope my game isn't affected because of it. This isn't just YOUR Shepard's story. It's OUR Shepard's story.

I'm saying this is the best way to handle the content at this point in the series so as to not offend fans who don't want to see s/s content in their games, or fans who don't want an Anders 3.0.

That's just it. It's fine if it is optional. I have to choose if I want to see it or not, not the game. It is NOT fine if Garrus, a character I have loved from the start, suddenly wants to "love me back".
