I was saying that I have no problem with the OP saying that he did not want old characters changed from gay to straight, or straight to gay, or whatever, when they gave no hint that they were anything but.

But I do not support his idea that there shouldn't be any gay content in the game at all because he finds it gross or whatever. Because when people make those points they often bring up the "realism" point. That being that the vast majority are heterosexual, therefore the vast majority of characters in ME should be heterosexual too.

If we go by the realism option however, that would mean that occasionally a homosexual person may get mixed signals from a heterosexual person and come onto him/her as it happens in real life, just as heterosexual people may get the wrong idea from a homosexual person. It happens in real life, so going by the 'realism' approach; it could happen in game too. So saying "No gay in my games ew" is a ridiculous point.


I was actually SUPPORTING YOU GUYS and yet you still threw it in my face.

Many of you say "But Tali and Garrus were made into LIs! Why can't we have homosexual romances?". While that is a decent argument, you're forgetting that Garrus and Tali's romances were done horrendously, and damaged their characters to some degree. Now, I'm not a fan of ruining characters for the cries of a fanbase, and if this s/s business is what will cause that, then I'm fully against it. We already can't trust the writers to handle a heterosexual romance, how can we trust them to handle a homosexual one?

Seeing how NONE of the characters wear their sexuality on their sleeve (aside from Morinth) I doubt an addition would change them. Ashley never goes "Oh I love men so so so so much, Men are awesome they are teh bestest" Liara doesn't say "I love everyone I'm an Asari so I can sleep with anyone I want to cuzI'm awesoe, i go both ways yay!" their sexuality doesn't define them and it won't if you add to it.

Maybe he didn't find the Warden attractive? Maybe your warden already had a romance going with someone else?  Maybe he was more worried about staying alive? Maybe he was more worried about his freedom?

I never said this. Don't put words in my mouth. I'm merely saying that the best way to handle the situation in ME3 is to have the content be accessible ONLY IF THE PLAYER ACCESSES IT. It's the only compromise that would make heterosexual fans and homosexual fans happy. This is a matter of characters. I'd be indifferent to content regarding James Vega coming onto ManShep, as that would mean his character being gay is an established part of his personality. However, if Bioware want to make Kaidan or Garrus gay, I don't ever, EVER want to see that content unless I decide to pursue it.

This thread began insane already. You are welcome to try, though... Anybody is. But it's so sad to say that I've completely lost my hope to change their minds. I can't understand why is a video-game more important than people's values.

They don't even need to change their minds, they just need to accept that things are a little more equal now. Not much more, but more than it was. Acceptance is all that's really needed.
