Uh, Claudia Black isn't doing a British accent, she's just talking the same as always. It's an Australian accent, probably altered a bit by her time in New Zealand and the USA.

Incorrect. She has a "Down Under" accent, though it is slightly Anglified, granted.

Ash was pretty sweet actually being a well-created woman tank which isn't that common in games.

In DAO the closest thing we have to Ashley I think is Ser Cauthrien which is by the way the #1 on my "would conscript" list.

What's the incorrect part?  I said she has an Australian accent.   Or do you mean that you think she is changing her accent for DAO?  I dunno, I'd have to listen to them side by side.

My experience with ME was that it avoided the tanking concept with the cover mechanics.

Likewise, it avoided the cover mechanics with the "lolwinbutton" Immunity skill ; p

But to answer the OP: Wow, that's a tough call. Ashley's a douche, Morrigan's a bee-hotch (and "'TIS, 'TIS, 'TIS all the time!)...Very, very tough call.

Morrigan, by far. I never cared much for Ashley. Liara beats both, though.

Ashley. I love tomboys.

Liara was too innocent. Reminded me more of a child than an actual woman.

Morrigan is awesome, too, but still runs second to Ashley.

I didn't have the problem with Ashley most people seem to have. Properly explored she had a personality; it was just that it was the type of personality that doesn't lend itself that well to making a big impression during a 30-40 hour adventure. Except for the most blatant "Humans-first" and almost "anti-alien" vibes, which is why the impression so many have of her is "xenophobic generic chick".

That being said, Morrigan was a more interesting character by far. And Claudia Black was Aeryn, who'd eat Ashley for breakfast in a female-commando throwdown.

While Morrigan annoyed me at times I appreciated her character. I've always been a Claudia Black fan, as well. I wasn't a fan of Ashley Williams at all in ME. I much preferred Tali'Zorah from ME. What can I say, I loved Liz Sroka's voice and the life she gave to the character.

For ME I had a thing for Tali'Zorah. There was a mysterious cuteness factor. For DA:O I found Leliana to be the one with the cuteness factor. The fact that she is a redhead didn't hurt and I loved her voice.

I liked Ashley's depth and religious beliefs (which is a breath of fresh air in an overly politically correct era) but Morrigan's attitude won me over. She's just very well written and voice acted.

Do you know what an Australian sounds like? Do you expect us to sound like Crocodile Dundee and Steve Irwin? Because I've never known an Australian who sounds anything like those two and I've been living here all my life.

Think I do, seeing I am 5th generation.  But I guess it is my Greek, Maori, Irish, English, Scotish... cross breed like mungrel dog that I am, miss the accent.

And I vote Ashley, I just can't help but feel that a night in the cot with Mori would equal crabs.

Morrigan ftw.

I actually did not realize at first it was Claudia Black until I commented to someone that I thought her voice actor was doing a great job and they let me know.

I vote Morrigan. To be Honest I didn't really like Ashley all that much. But there was a lack of any good romance options in Mass Effect.
