What is the first robe i can attain as a mage that do not require me killing mercs in a skirt? I'm still in my weak apostate leather robes because i get to where some godamn pants.

They're not skirts. Skirts are one-piece numbers that stop at the waist. Mages' robes cover the whole body. The proper disparaging metaphor would be to say "killing mercs in a dress."

That said, they're all over the place. Look harder.

What compelled you to reply to my topic yet not help me in any way? One of the many things i don't understand about regular forumites.

It would be very much appreciated if someone could point in the right geographical direction of these supposedly abundant mage trousers; preferably in Act 1

I happen to appreciate regular forumites.

But here's an older thread for you.

@ Gibb_Shepard you can use the save game editor to reskin your robes using whatever armour model you like. That would probably be easiest as the shirt & pants robes aren't always the best stat-wise.

If you want to buy some I think there's some apostate robes available from the apparel seller in lowtown in act 1 and heavy velvet robes from the mage goods in the gallows in act 2.

How would i go about doing that? does messing with the saves pose any risk?

Thanks for this, it sounds perfect, considering there aren't any mage trousers in act 1

See, this is why "regular forumites" aren't very helpful. There's a thread stickied to the top of the modding forum entitled "Save Editing."

But you didn't know that, because you didn't bother looking.
