I'm not playing the victim card, I'm just stating the truth here. I think fanatics is an apt description of the S/S crowd on these forums however. Unfortunately Bioware didn't have the sense to ignore them it seems.

Actually I thought he was really cool and rather complex in Starcraft 1 and Brood War, but Starcraft 2 made him "evil generic bad guy" which kinda sucked.

From what I've seen, there are elements of both sides of the debate being a little overzealous about a feature that is a very minor part of what ME is about, in the end, everyone should really just shut the hell up about it because it causes too many flame wars.

Well considering hoomphobe has a more sensible definition other than what it has been watered down to I don't think it is an apt description. I do see your point however, I may be just a tad frusterated with them.

I've never even seen a S/Ser that wants Thane.  Most of the S/Sers seem to want Kaidan/Joker or possibly Brorus/Gayrus.

When someone who feels downtrodden get some measure of success - they'll tend to celebrate it loudly. For two games s/s has been taboo in ME - science fiction is supposed to be the more notably progressive genre.

I understand you're tired of "hearing" it - it's like having those neighbors across the street throwing a party every night of the week. I get it - you don't actually hate those neighbors, but in your mind, enough's enough.

But just remember - just like so many loud minorities, that doesn't make the entire population of a group.

Perhaps you don't "approve of that lifestyle" - perhaps you "don't want it in your game" or think children "shouldn't be exposed to that material". Well - while I don't agree, I wouldn't imagine taking your right to voice your opinion away (not to mention how futile it would be on the internet)

But - it's in now and no measure to counter-raging is going to change it for ME 3.

My only suggestion is to just try to find the "good times" in it. Maybe you can find it within you to celebrate a victory of a group of people you don't have something in common with (but far more than you'll probably imagine) - maybe you don't even like us - but maybe you can just say.

Hey, it's cool... what's done is done. Good for them - I hope this leads to a little quieter board once they finally get what they want.

Being annoyed with one group of "fanatics" is hardly unbiased.

Eh, Garrus is already pushing the boundries of queer by definition though,  the whole clashing chemical make ups make me scratch my head when it comes to hetero relationships and I'd feel the same way as ******.  I don't get Joker myself for Hetero or ****** Characters.  I've always considered flight to be his replacement sex and he can continue watching his porn and not fear breaking bones.  I do do my best to allow people their oppinions even if they make me scratch my head.

Taboo? The fact that it wasn't included didn't make it "taboo", especially when you could argue you could have a lesbian romance with Liara.

Indeed I'm damned tired of hearing it, seeing the banners, etc. So why would I celebrate anything? In my opinion it has always been a distraction that could have been used making other content. I'm sure there are countless reasonable homosexuals out there, ones who don't feel a compulsive need for gay LIs in a video game, or don't define themselves around their sexuality like many here seem to do. However like the jaded cynic I am I will be bitter and annoyed. Bioware probably won't remove anything, but I do hope they haev the sense to sense not to change the sexuality of any existing characters. I also hope that this James Vega isn't like Anders.

You're right about the character and LI section, but I'm not fond of the fact that Bioware actually decided to pander to one of the irrational groups out there, most developers seem to ignore such groups and let them do their thing.

Now I don't see that connection at all. The fact that one would be willing to jump species boundaries doesn't mean that they would be more likely to "play for the other team." I'll agree that Joker probably doesn't fit as an LI for FemShep either. He seems perfectly content flying his ship.
