DA isn't getting enough respect from the industry IMO

Maybe it's just a case of being up against so many amazing titles this time of year but I feel like it's not getting the industry respect it deserves. It's by far my best gaming experience thus far this year.
Bioware is quickly becoming my favorite developer. I just can't believe they are releasing DA and ME2 in a matter of a few months. So friggen stoked for ME2.

To be GOTY Bioware would have to put everything into graphics and make the story 4 hours long.

Dragon Age 100% deserves at least a spot in the running for overall GOTY. Even if we all know MW2 will be handed it.

That said, looking at my steam friend list, which consists mostly of game developers, is very very satisfying right now

Why would I buy L4D 2, when I got bored of L4D 1 after the first 30 minutes?
In the end, why does the opinion of game fansites matter to YOU? The only opinion that matters to me, is the only one I paid my $50 to and that's Dragon Age. I had the money to buy any of the games that were released this quarter but the only one I've bought is Dragon Age, and consequently I've logged over 100 hours into the game since release. I got my money's worth and then some. I don't care what Ziff Davis, Viacom, or CBS Interactive tells me which game I should be enjoying most. In the end, I know I would only have enjoyed DA:O.

GOTY requirement is to have a story which can be written onto a napkin.
Deus Ex won multiple GOTY if I recall correctly, and deserved every single one. Of course, that was also like 9 years ago.

9 years ago tells the story, back then, we didnt have 100 million dollar advertisingbudgets, and reviewers beingorced to not give games lower thena certain score, and not allowed to mention CGI times (Im looking at you MGS4). Sites like Gamespot, IGn are nothing mroe then mouthpieces and propaganda for big name publishers.
The game industry media needs a total revamp, or an independant body.

Spike Tv is a joke, amazing people even pay attention to their awards.

Check out some news articles about how well DA:O did on steam and other retailers.

Personally I'd vote for Borderlands with Hearts of Iron 3 being second and DAO being third.

But among the community and the amorphous sector of the industry interested in either RPGs, single player games or anything Bioware has done before, Dragon Age has been--rightfully--regarded with acclaim.

Spike TV has fans? I didn't know there was crossover appeal for CSI and Japanese gameshows with american voice dubs. Ever since spike TV got rid of TNG it has been dead to me.
