Uncharted 2 is going to win the most GotY awards from web sites and so on, I'm betting. Any popularity based contest is going to go to MW2. DA is my second favorite game of the year (followed by Batman then AC2). But I thought Uncharted 2 was just amazing: the story was good and tightly written, the graphics were amazing, the gameplay was, while not original, exceptionally well done. Dragon Age was good, but U2 (imo) was better.

Uncharted is slightly out of topic since it is a playstation 3 game...

GOTY is all about how much money you can shovel at websites. There is zero integrity in the gaming news industry.

The game is great .... I'd vote it as GOTY. But I've loved almost every Bioware game.

Game of the Year means nothing outside of helping to get more sales.

For instance both the original Left 4 Dead and Fallout 3 have received a GOTY label, and as far as I know about the English language it's named Game of the Year, not Games of the Year, isn't it supposed to be only one game per year that can get a GOTY label logically? It doesn't mean anything for me anyway, all that is important is that I like it, and I certainly do, if the "industry" for whatever it means don't give enough "respect" to DA I don't care nor should BioWare do, what BioWare needs to care about is their fans and the potential new comers to their games, and they certainly do so since they were founded, in my book that's quite sufficient.

This GOTY?
Your kidding right?

I mean atleast in fantastic games like Uncharted,MW2 and Kz2 your experience doesnt have to suck because you choosed the wrong class or skill tree. I mean for ex if you specced in daggers with dextertity it doesnt work, while I never played any of the mentioned games to realise later that bullets doesnt work... lol.
Infact the whole story in DAO felt like LOTRO, you need to find allies with men, dwarfs and elf then protect your capital.
wow, how did Bioware come up with that?

I think DAO was a great game ,but GOTY? stop drinking the cool aid.
I know its a bioware forum and all, but tehre is a reason why for ex MW2 sells a lot more, its pure gold in SP & MP, and Bioware doesnt even support MP this time.

And look at Dragon Age DLC, it didnt even work and they charged you money on day1.its a greedy company, so enough about the pr-stuff and hype around MW2 and how it fools people, Bioware is worse.
They charge you for dlc that didnt even work on the 360 on day 1, they didnt care about testing it, nope - day 1 its out and not working but money they should have for it.

disgusting.

And not that the DLC didnt even work on console, it took me 20 min also to finish.
Wtf?!

Typical, retarded 14 year old console gamer. At least make an effort next time.

Dragon Age made all the right moves (ie generic fantasy world, agressive ad campaign, new IP, linear while in combat map areas) but made game way too long for the average joe and extremely long development time meant that graphics will be outdated.

Something like 6-8 hour main campaign, Assassin Creed 2 graphical quality, a bit easier lowest difficulty curve and thet might have GotY shot.

actually a short campaign is not a selling point, most people dislike it. Assasin's Creed was called too short.

Personly I rather see Assasin's Creed's combat in Dragon Age than its graphics.

DA is without doubt my GOTY. Absolutely epic story, brilliantly told, believable characters who generated a variety of emotions in me, fantastic voice acting. I played for about 40 hours, so that's great value for money. I didn't rush, but there are alot of side quests I didn't get around to because I wanted to keep the main story moving. Definate replay value. The pacing was great, although not necessarily enforced. After completing a huge chunk of the quest, like 3 hours straight of fighting, I liked being able to go back to camp and just chat for a while, get to know my companions (and romance Leliana ;)) and basically relax for a bit before the next fight. I loved the moral choices. Most of them didn't seem forced - the decisions I ended up making were what I felt my character really would do in that situation. The one in Redcliffe was actually quite hard to decide - I really had to spend some time thinking about the 3 options ... and I mean that in a good way. And it was great how choices in even the smaller quests had impacts on the storyline later on.

Bioware, once again I'm in awe of you guys, can't wait for your next game ;)

A game without multiplayer cannot be game of the year.

Yes, it would be difficult to incorporate at this point but still, it's almost 2010 so I don't understand what the devs were thinking.

They were thinking of spending all the money on a spectacular Single Player, instead of wasting money on MP.  Not all games need MP, just like not all games need SP.

Also, most of the games that won Game of the year in the last decade have been Single Player only.  Most, but not all.

Generally, it is the Single player that makes a game of the year, not the MP.
