Hi

I have a PS3 but I dont have a network connection.
Play my PS3 games offline.

Thinking of getting ME2 and it has the DLC packs redeemable with a code, it seems.
Can I just input the code in the game or do I have to have a network connection to download the DLC?

Is the DLC already on the disc itself which I can just unlock with the code?

Thanks!

You will need to access the Playstation Store to redeem your code which requires network access.

Also the Cerberus DLC will give you access to the Interactive Comic which must be downloaded from the Playstation Store as it's not on the disc.

To access the Downloadable Content, you will need to be connected to the PSN or Xbox Live network (depending on your console). Once the codes have been input, a download will initiate and you must stay connected for the entire download. When finished, you can then use the DLC and shouldn't have to remain online.

Excellent job Bioware. I don't have my PS3 connected to the net either yet on the back of the PS3 box it says -
*INCLUDES -

- The compete Mass Effect 2 Game
- Interactive back-story by Dark Horse Comics
-Three action-Packed bonus missions

I already own the Xbox version but bought the PS3 version as i wanted to continue onto ME3 on that but now i can't. Way to go and false advertise. As a result i'm taking this pos back today. Nice going Bioware & EA.

Me too i just picked up the PS3 version pre-owned so obviously all that stuff on the cover which says it  is " Included " actually isn't since the original owner used the cerberus network pass Image IPB

On the back of the game box it says:
ACTIVATE THE CERBERUS NETWORK*
To access bonus downloadable content including weapons, armor, vehicle missions, and characters.

Below that it states:
Single-use Cerberus Network code is enclosed with new, full retail purchase and expires January 1, 2012. EA Account and Game Registration with Cerberus Network code required to access Online features and Services. Cerberus Network code is nontransferable once used. Additional Cerberus Network Pack available for purchase.

The extra content is included with the activation of the Cerberus Network which requires broadband network access to activate and download the content.

You can buy the Cerberus Network Pack within the console marketplace or store if you have a pre-owned/used copy.

That is true but no where does it say you need the Cerberus network to access the kasumi, lair of the shadow broker, interactive comic or overlord. The front and back advertising makes it appear as if they are included on the disc.

I was deceived by the packaging also, as I purchased a pre-played copy fully aware of the fact that I wouldn't have access to the cerberus network. The packaging does not indicate that the DLC or comic are in any way tied to the cerberus network. All I really wanted is the comic, so that I could duplicate the choices I made on PC with ME1, but unfortunately that just can't happen given my current situation.

I'm personally quite miffed about it, and while I'd like to let you know what I think about the underhanded tactics, I'll simply say that I feel swindled. While I am a huge Bioware fan, I am currently very, very disappointed.

This whole cerberus code is pretty confusing, can someone confirm if i buy the game used without the included code, will i be able to play the 6 hours of extra missions as stated on the box, and the interactive comic, and if not from the disk then can i download them free through thhe game or psn without having to purchase the code on the store?

The following its included in the disc, so you don't need to download:

Lair of the Shadow Broker
Kasumi's Stolen Memories
Project Overlord

The following it's not included so you'll need a network conecction and working code to download it:

Cerberus Network: this include the following

New squadmate: Zaeed
New vehicle and missions
New armor & weapons
Mass Effect 2 Genesis Interactive Comic.

Hope this helps.... ;)
