is their a way to check in game how far you are on certain achievements you are doing specifically the ones that require certain powers,biotics etc. to be used 75 times

Not on the 360 as far as I am aware of, on the pc you can always try the achievement editor. It shows how many times you've used a power or kills with a gun.
