So along with the council races shepard has to recruit why not the mercenary bands like the blue suns and eclipse. or have Aria lead them as a joined criminal fleet bent on defending the terminus systeams. could be a possible renagade option.

Or we can do what tela vasir did with that salarian and stand idly by as the reapers utterly destroy those annoying groups and then be like "Oh no! if only I could have gotten here sooner =P"

I was thinking more about haveing a prebuilt military fleet thats already battle harden and fit for combat. but if you want them as cannon fodder instead of a ovious tactical advantage thats your game.

Well in the trailers it looks like the Blue Suns are actively involved, so it could be possible for the others to be involved as well.

Do you mean the Fall of Earth trailer? Pretty sure the dudes in blue are Alliance.

Id have to agree as the blue suns operate out in the terminus systeams not in alliance space mutch less earth as most are batarians.

perhaps if you completed zaeed's LM renegade style, he took over the suns, easy way to get him in the story....

this is where i'd really like to see your "choices pay off"...small characters like the batarian you didn't kill (maybe while saving mordin's assistant) in mordin's recruitment turns out to be a side quest for a small group of allies....
