I've been saying this for a while Skorpious but it seems it's easier to panic than read.

Yeah, the voices of sanity are apparently really boring.

I made my posts in this thread short, I swear!

Yeah, that was my first thought, too.

Obviously, if they really don't get Beattie back for Mordin, that's idiocy of the worst kind, but at this stage, I think all that the lack of Beattie "confirms" is that Mordin is probably a one-mission squadmate, rather than a longer-term one, and thus not recorded properly yet.

Changing the actor like that makes little sense to me. Wouldn't it take less time and effort to keep the actor who is already familiar with the role compared to having to introduce a new person to Mordin? Especialy as the fans realy liked Beatties performance and he himself liked the role. But, it seems like a typical case of wait and see here.

This kind of info angers me, when your used to a character sounding perfect and really funny and now wont be the same person "acting" that role just is so irritating. I loved speaking to mordin easily the funniest character to speak too :(

I wonder why they did choose to replace him, since it seems from that comment he's really interested in doing it again, he was just never asked. It seems strange since out of all the voices, his was perhaps one of the most distinct and loved. I really hope it's not the voice we heard in the trailer because that was just..... ick.

Well, Chris Priestley has now given us a reason to actually worry.

Instead of giving us an answer on this issue, he simply locked the other thread about it, and said "one thread per topic", rather than "This is untrue, we haven't cast Mordin yet." or the like, which gives a certain degree of credence to this.

Ugh. I hope it's not true. Losing Mordin's VA, Christina Norman, Ginny McSwain and Wall & Hulick seems like an awful lot of change from what was a very successful team.

They'd never do this to a TURIAN VA.

He locked because there's no point having TWO threads about the same topic when you can have one.

Also they aren't revealing ME3 FULL VO LIST YET:

"The VO cast in #ME3 will be announced at a later time. We'll let you know when."

I thought Christina Norman was still working in gameplay. I think getting Mansell was a no brainer(no offense Wall/Hulick). Dunno Ginny McSwain.

I'm pretty sure that he wasn't recast. As I recall, they said something about not having finished his VO work in time for the demo and having someone else do the voice acting.

In other news, the sky appears to be falling.

I'm for singing the Doom song as much as anyone, but I think it's way too early to be hitting the panic button on this one.

Well, there is still 9 months to release and you only need him in the studio for a couple days to get the VO done so who knows. I can't think of any reason not to sign him. I doubt he's doubled his rates or anything.

I hope Bioware are reading this. I hope they see what his participation means to some fans.

Can you imagine the Turian rage if Garrus were to get a new voice...  or the Talirage if the big hipped bucket head girl suddenly went through a change in voice actors?

"With Beattie recast, Jack Wall not composing it and rumours of the much-respected Ginny Mc Swain STILL not part of the project; we’re becoming increasingly worried by the day."
Pretty much sums up my feeling on ME3 at the moment.

If Mordin is just a minor character in ME 3 and it being 9 months at least before the game ships then this isn't all that significant.

Wait, another part of the article interests me: Didn't Ginny do the voice directing for FemShep and Jacob?

That's a fire-able offense in itself.

You mean probable gems like "Molest him! Make him feel like he will be fired unless he lets you lick his abs!"

I hate voice actor changes almost as much as actors changing in the middle of a TV or movie series... Anders in Dragon Age 2 sounded so very different from his voice in Awakening and it was incredibly jarring.

That said, I wouldn't have noticed the change from the E3 footage anyway.

I think the writer on that site is overreacting a bit much.

It would indeed suck, if Mordin's voice actor did not return. But Jack Wall being replaced by Clint Mansell also has him worrying?

In the words of John McEnroe,

Didn't Keith David say the same thing a few months before ME2 came out? He was still in the cast as Anderson. They probably just don't record voices for more minor roles until the game is closer to its release date.

This is the interview:
www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/mass-effect-2/news/6216758/modern-warfare-2s-keith-david-talks-voice-acting

Note the date: Sept. 3 2009, a little over 4 and a half months before Mass Effect 2 came out.

Near the bottom, after the parts about MW2 and Halo 3, they ask him about ME2 and he says that Bioware hadn't contacted him yet.

Calm down.
