Mordin had the best Voice Actor in ME2.

His loyalty mission was amazing. The huge range of emotions.

If this is true, it's a huge mistake and a sad day.

I think the writer on that site is overreacting a bit much.

It would indeed suck, if Mordin's voice actor did not return. But Jack Wall being replaced by Clint Mansell also has him worrying?

In the words of John McEnroe,

The article I wrote (linked in on the Mordin article) explains my feelings on replacing Jack Wall. I will simply say that some of us fans would have preferred Jacks vision to have been completed rather than to have been aborted two thirds of the way through. Sorry, it's just how I feel. Mansell is a superb talent and I'm quite a big fan of him (in particular the soundtrack to The Fountain) but I think it would have been best if Jack was a part of it.

But then again, this is merely a trend it seems. I thought the ME2 team was perfect but I guess Bioware like messing with a good thing. Oh well. Just my opinion, sorry if we don't see eye to eye.

Id like to say that Wall decided to stop, it wasnt Bioware replacing him.

Personally, I found that a little hard to swallow when I read it. Jack absolutely loved working on Mass Effect and I honestly don't believe he decided to just up and leave. I just don't buy it. Sorry. Just my opinion.  There's no way he would have walked away after the masterclass that was the ME2 soundtrack.

Oh and expect an interview with Jack on TGL soon! heh :D

It's a little more than 8 months until the release of the game so people shouldn't worry too much at this point in time. However, I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous myself. Some statement or confirmation on Bioware's part of Beattie's participation or non-participation in the third game would be greatly appreciated not just by fans of Mordin Solus, but by every fan of Mass Effect 2.

If memory serves me, Ginny McSwain did the voice for Liara?

Nope. Ali Hillis voiced Liara. Ginny was the lead voice director on Mass Effect 1 and 2. Lovely lady!

http://thegaminglibe...-ginny-mcswain/

In fact, when I interviewed the cast many of them praised her role during both games.

Oh! Well to lose her would make ME3 atmospherically different I suppose...

I've always liked Wrex's/ Grunt's VA. His role as Olgren in DA:O was simply awesome. And Wrex's role in ME2 was very badass.

What can we take from this? Well, it clearly implies that there was some kind of rift between Wall and Bioware and that they perhaps had a difference of opinion of where the score of Mass Effect 3 should be taken. The role of composer for Mass Effect 3 has been given to Clint Mansell, a film composer whose first video game project will be Mass Effect 3. But, what could this mean for Mass Effect 3? Does this change mean anything?

That is not a fact, but an opinion, and I just don't think that it's cool to post that without stating that your article is subjective, especially when it is a news article. Sorry.

Excuse me, it's not a "news" article. It's an opinion piece. Gaming websites aren't there to only post news. It's clearly an opinion piece about my owns thoughts on it all. Saying we posted it as "news" is absolutely wrong.

In which case I apologize, though I would like to request you to cite reasons with sources when you use the word "clearly". Not because I have a problem with you thinking that it's obvious, it's your opinion after all, but because it can easily take an accusatory stance for either parties.

EDIT:
And you should change the title. Mordin Solus is not officially recast by any means.

Well, considering how fast Salarians age, it is logical to give Mordin another voice. Though it is not up to me to judge whether the original VA couldn't do that himself.

As long as the voice is still distinctively Mordin, I will be fine with it I guess.

Not a valid reason, imo. The recorded audio from the voice actor is post-edited anyway, no reason why they would just not edit it in a slightly different way.

Well, we don't know how much a role Mordin has in ME3. If his role is little enough, they might just have not yet contracted him for his work and he just emphasized on that part to knack the community. I know I certainly would.

Agreed. It is just wrong to say that there is anything official about it. Change it to "Unofficially" or something with a similar meaning to more accurately reflect the truth of the matter.

Changing his voice actor would be as stupid as changing voice actor of Hitman.

Oh wait...

But looks like its just that Beattie wasnt contacted..yet.

It's possible that BioWare just haven't got round to contacting Michael yet. It would be a shame if they did go with someone else, Michael's VO for Mordin in ME2 was stellar!

Wholeheartedly agree. Sign him already, BioWare!

I remember a podcast in which he said he wasn't sure about doing another Mass Effect game and that he wanted to move on. This was well before the official announcement of him and Sam Hulick not working on ME3.

Everyone who is freaking out is just jumping the gun. The article itself is already jumping to WILD conclusions based off little.

Very, very, disappointed with this news. To be honest Mordin is the character I am most looking forward to seeing in ME3 and not having Beattie as the VA... he did such a great job with him in ME2. I can't believe how upset I am about this.

And this is why I'll ask once again for the topic title to change.

Agreed. The title can cause lots of drama and nerd rage, especially since the recasting is only speculation and lots of people seem to be taking it as fact.
