Hey all,

I've been searching and can't find an answer to my query so here goes.

I bought Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 recently (ish) in the Steam sale and I am excited about Mass Effect 3 but because my computer isn't amazing, I would like to play on PS3. Is there any way to transfer my PC save file to PS3 for continuation with Mass Effect 3?

I know the game's not been released yet but perhaps someone else has encountered a similar situation and found an answer or maybe people tried with Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2?

Thanks!

The save games are not cross-platform compatible, unfortunately. You cannot take your PC save from Mass Effect 1 and 2 from the PC and transfer it to the PS3.

However, for PS3, once you activate the Cerberus Network and before starting the game, you can run through the comic "Genesis". This will give you the choices for the major plot points of Mass Effect that can be imported to Mass Effect 2. Then you can play Mass Effect 2 and when finished and Mass Effect 3 is released, you can import your save into that game and continue the saga.

This has to be one of my favorite features about the Mass Effect series.

Whatever choices I made in the Interactive Comic and Mass Effect 2 play through will have a MASSive effect on my Mass Effect 3 experience.

Are you going to force me to pirate the XBOX copy to play Mass Effect 3 with my ME2 PC save?

Because that seems to be what your'e saying.

I have: Mass Effect 1 & 2 on Steam, and ME3 the PS3 disc.

Since you're against game trading, maybe you want me to buy ME3 again for PC. I like the game, but I don't think I'll do that.

Thanks for telling me to pirate.

(To clarify, you can successfully import PC games to XBOX 360, apparently.)

Why buy it on a platform that was known to be unable to use your saved games months before release? And why pirate something that's falling in price fast enough that legit copies are already a third of the release price or less and likely to fall further? And why dig up a year dead thread to say so?

Not hating, just asking.
