I wounder if there is something negative to go and find Liara before doing the Feros mission?
Before entering Normady for the first time after becoming a spectre Captain Andersson tells
Shepard that it is his own choice in what to first(Liara, Feros or Noveria), Shepard then says that
helping Humans on Feros is more important.
Are there any negative consequences in ME1/ME2 or ME3 if I go and pick up Liara first?
Pick up Liara before Feros mission?

No there isn't.
I've always picked Liara up first. (just so my squad is complete ASAP)
The only noticeable differences, I know of, are:
If you're trying to get the 'Asari Ally' achievement, the sooner you start using her, the more likely it will trigger.
The other is, if you wait till after Feros, Noveria, & Virmire, she'll have some amusing dialogue. (from being inside the Prothean barrier longer)
Either way, there are no actual consequences with the order, in which you choose to do, of the missions/assignments.

Yes, no matter what you pick for that dialogue option, you can still do them in any order, with no consequences. That's why I kind of always wondered why they even gave you a choice of what to say, since whatever you say, he pretty much says "it's up to you".

There is a small difference in some conversations if you leave Liara until later. But none for getting her first.

In my recent playthrough I left Feros as the last mission... and it didn't change a thing.

Hmm. My Shep never said anything like that.
I usually get Liara first, then do Noveria, Feros, then Virmire.

I usually try to go get her first, so I have a full squad as soon as possible, except for my last playthrough, where I got her at the last minute to hear her funny dialogue.

Yeah, it doesn't make a difference what order you do them in.
Personally I like to go Feros->Therum->(UNC quests & DLC)->Virmire->Noveria, because the story makes the most sense to me that way, but sometimes I'll mix it up (generally if I plan to romance Liara or want to have the "depends on the species, turian" exchange with the Council).
