I'm sorry if this has been posted before. I just preordered the masseffect colectors edition from game (uk). That was my only option if i wanted a disk copy (the cool case and all) its not listed on amazon uk and Game want £10 pounds more than the eastore.

So  my question is this: why are retalers so stingy with the CE avaliblityand why are game alowed to sting people £59 on eastore and £69 (74) with shiping at game. I'd go else ware if there were any other options  I trust.

on a side note how are ea store preorders handeled are thay chargerd right away or on shiping?

Why is it so hard to give bioware my money? :P

i'm torn I want the cool case art but the cases themselfs have been known to damage disks because the sprue that holds them in place wont work properly. happened with me2ce. the spru is to tight and you ether brake your thumb or the disk trying to get it out the case :P I hope i can tie it to the ea download manager whatever its called now.

Place an order at Origin (the digital deluxe) to be sure to get all the cool extra stuff in the game, then see if you can get a real copy from a local gameshop near you when it becomes more available and cancel the pre-order at Origin

I remember that.
Although, this happened to my Gears of War 2 CE.

That might be one idea, but as an FYI, getting the DDE from Origin may not appeal to you when you finish reading the EULA for ME3

Schrijver's idea is flawed on 2 counts one EA charge you as soon as you preorder. two you only get the codes when the game is ready to down load. so his way means your paying twice and you can only use your goodies with one game key.

Well I live in the Caribbean and I pre-ordered a CE of Mass Effect 3. So on Amazon.com that is $80. Then I will have to pay about $15 for my freight forwarder to ship the game to me from the U.S. Once the game arrives here on the island I live on, I then have to clear my game from customs and pay a duty of 48% of $95.

I wish I still lived in the UK or the US and not have to pay so much extra for my games.

Trust me...I love video games and the ONLY reason I am getting the CE of ME3 is because it releases just before my Bday. I figure it is a nice birthday gift to myself. :D

On average I spend $20-$30 dollars more on a game because of where I live but it is a lot cheaper than buying them here on the island. There are no Walmarts, Targets or GameStops here and the few shops that sell games here have crappy selections. If you want the new games early, you got to order them from online retailers.

I must admit the lythograph is a cool colectors pece i'm not crasy for the metal cases though for reasons i explaned earler. having the disks as back up and tieing the game to the download manager would be my ideal solution. But the diffrence is a joke. theres no reason for it.

I must have misread his 'idea' about getting 2 sets of codes for 1 game, which is quite stupid.  I thought his suggestion was to preorder at Origin and then see if you can get a copy from Gamestop at a lower price and if not keep the first.

My bad.

no problem, Origin charge you as soon as you order same with steam so if thay do lower the price later your stuffed. least with game if thay do lower it its passed on
