Ouch... Well... At least you can start over...?

Still sucks. I just made a plate of nachos with fresh salsa, marble cheese and chopped portabelo mushrooms. Have some.

You know, when I first read this I thought you were going to say that you tripped and dropped it, sending it flying across the floor.  That would be in keeping with the OP, and I was all ready to gigglesnort.

PS:  The worst thing about dropping food you just made is that now you not only have to clean it up, you have to make more.  Extra points if that was the last of whatever it was.

No, I enjoyed them and their overzealous amount of delicious fungus, and washed it down with ice cold Arizona Raspberry Iced Tea. Dayum.

I did drop an entire plate of homemade wafflez before. All full of maple syrup, whipped cream, strawberries... Splatter and broke apart all over my nasty old floor. Left it for my dog and went outside to rage, and ended up busting my punching bag with a crowbar. Bad day.

Gigglesnort achieved? Image IPB

I still worry about my xbox red-ringing it and losing my files. As far as I know, there's no way to back them up.

It's not like a RROD is a big deal. A friend of mine owns a trash business and at one time had four Xboxes because clueless people  throw out Xboxes with RRODs. He knows someone who fixes them for 'cheap.'

I lost all of my original ME2 playthroughs last year due to some Steam error... so I share your pain on this one.

I feel your pain man.

2 Months ago my 5th Xbox 360 completely fried, corrupting all my save files, for all of my games, including Mass Effect 1 and 2.

After 5 Xbox 360s, I finally said **** Microsoft, sold all my Xbox 360 games and bought a PS3 and Mass Effect 2 for it.

I've lost a total of 6 shepards, for about 10ish playthroughs before, so i feel your pain. Going through 3 more now, so now i have 15 playthroughs?

had 3 shepards on a breand new desktop when the harddrive died because of the way they were set up. If one harddrive got corrupted, they both failed so i think it was a raid0? After raging at ALL my lost work, i switched over to my gaming laptop while my harddrive was being replaced. My lpatop also had about 200 hundred hours of DAO and a LOT of mods. a few months later and 3 more shepards, my laptop's motherboard died for the second time and it was deemed trashtime as it was 3 years old. After raging even harder at the loss of now 6 shepards, 200 hundred hours of DAO, and going through 2 GIS program CDs and thus ran out of trials for my schoolwork, I put it back on my now fixed and thus far working flawlessly desktop.

If i have one more harddrive / motherboard crash, Im seriously going to go murder someone.

OP I had this problem with Origins.... I lost all my Wardens twice it still hurts. 600 hours later though I have my perfect Warden. I share your grief.

I've since been more careful with my Shepards.

Flamebait, anyone?

Anyway, that sucks. But when you think about it, you now have spare time! Which you can spend with friends instead! Or your girl- / boyfriend.
Usually when such things happen on my PC, I spend more time with my friends instead of gaming because I don't want to go through that stuff again.

I have a stupid Arcade version. No way to do it, as far as I know.

Thats nothing.. How about almost 2000 hours of game time on Oblivion having finished EVERYTHING in shivering isles and halfway through Knights of the Nine and almost done with the thieves guild and a good part of the dark brotherhood only to lose it all!

Now that I can feel. I was 100% plus in some attributes, a 100% plus in some skills. Bottom line, I was the "Nord" who could take your life by just casting a fireball. Lo and behold I was afflicted by the "Abomb" bug and that was just with a little over 400 hours in gameplay. Right then I decided no more Bethesda games on the 360. And better yet, no more gameplay until 1 to 2 months have past from release so I can read the complaints of Skyrim. Even though I have it on preorder, I refuse to play it until my personal "safety" time has past.

On topic. Yeah, 40 saves? I can see like 4 careers but forty? I don't know how I would react? And then again, I can't see systematically deleting 4 characters without realizing it. Even if the file had become "corrupted" I just can't see that. Invest in a portable harddrive or a couple of flash drives. Good luck replaying through because even to get that level 60 in ME1 I had to play the game twice. But if it was mainly ME2 then it shouldn't be too tedious.

Well I guess you'll have to listen to the same lines 10 more times with a playthrough now.

Well the Elite (the original model kind, that they no longer make) does run smoother.  I've had my Elite since 2007, and I've only had to get it repaired once.  It was just before the warranty expired too, so the repair was free.  Other than that no problems to speak of.  I'm just amazed at the amount of RRODs that people say they've suffered through.  If it's that big of a problem on the cheaper kinds, then save up some more money and spring for the better models.  It sucks, but you'll end up saving money that way.  You won't have to replace the damn thing 5 times at least.

Oh wait, you're a 360 player... I can only offer my condolences then...

You can use Gibbed for the 360 too. I've done it many times.
