I need to find another game to keep me busy until Dragon Age: Origins comes out, but I have weighed and measured every game and they have all been found wanting.

I hear ya. But seeing as this has nothing to do with the Character Creator, I see this getting locked

Try Risen or Batman: AA.Hamarabi2006 wrote...

I just finished replaying Mass Effect for the... Um... 10th time. Good way to kill a few days, but I too am not sure what to play until DA:O comes out. I already replayed Baldur's Gate II twice this semester... Hm.

I've been playing Neverwinter Nights as I have been in the habit of doing for many, many years. Will Dragon Age be the game to finally replace my NWN addiciton?

Maybe "Divinity 2 : Ego Draconis" (thought, November being not too far, I guess DA:O might kill its replayability as soon as it goes out...).

BG 2 is the only worthy game I can think of, even if you don't want to play it, play it anyways its that good

I'm still messing around in Mass Effect, as to finish up my "definite" save for ME2.
If I have time left I might try to bring myself to finish Mysteries of Westgate. It's supposedly pretty good, but I just can't get into it.

That's what I just did in my last run through; my "canon" playthrough for my male Shepard. Still need to do it for my female Shep, though.DarthMuffin wrote...

Arcanum, Baldurs Gate 2, Mass Effect, Planescape Torment, Fallout (any title) are all worthy RPGs to fill in the gap

Great character portraits, everyone.
Thanks for all the advice, guys and gals! The only ones I have out of your suggestions are Baldur's Gate 2, Diablo II, and Mass Effect, but I have kind of over played them a bit. hehe
As far as Fallout goes, I don't much care for shooter games or games with guns, Mass Effect being the only worthy exception in my mind. They have over saturated the market if you ask me. Crisis Core and Batman are action games, which use fast button mashing and I am not very good at it. I watched several espidoes of a youtube walkthrough of Risen and the story, art, and combat didn't sit right with me or impress me enough to want to buy the game. The others are impossible to find.
I guess I wasn't really expecting a great game that I have never played or heard of, since I usually check the gaming websites every other day or so. Meh.
I went out and bought Majesty 2 which is slightly amusing, it's definitely unique, but there's no way this game will keep my interest for very long.
If anyone else has any other suggestions, I'm all ears. The wait for Dragon Age is killing me! LOL
Cheers!

Fine-tuning my characters will keep me busy, but, let's see...
Read The Stolen Throne and The Calling, if you only want one, The Calling has TONS of lore on the Grey Wardens.
Play Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, The Witcher, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, Knights of the Old Republic.
My personal guilty pleasure is BloodRayne 2. It's terrible in oh so many ways, but I have fun just hacking through people while spouting ridiculously obvious and cheesy innuendo.

Civ IV takes a lot of time to play if you like that kind of game. I bought KotOR to help pass the time. Also the Total War games are fun and can be time consuming. And you can always play Mahjong.

@Servant of Nature
I just might go down to the bookstore to see if they have one of Mr. Gaider's books. If not I am sure they can order it.
All great games. I have played many times, the following: Baldur's Gate I and II and expansions, Neverwinter Nights and Expansions, Neverwinter Nights 2 and expansions, The Witcher, Mass Effect, and Knights of the Old Republic. Regrettably, I was not even aware of Icewind Dale or Planescape: Torment when they came out and they are difficult to find now a days. Again, Jade Empire is an action game which is not really my forte. I am sure it has a great story, though.
@Seruka
I have also played Civilization III and IV to death. Also the Total War series. Fantastic strategy games! But I am burned out on that kind of game play right now. I loved KOTOR, but I have played that game about 10 times already. I'm burned out on it, if you know what I mean.
@II Relics II
Fallout 3 is not my kind of game. I don't care for the shooter aspects and it reminds me too much of Oblivion which I hated so very much. I'm sure it has a good story, a lot of people seem to like that game.
I don't think there is any pleasing me at this point until Dragon Age comes out! LOL
Anyway, thank you all for the suggestions. Have fun with the character creator! Cheers!
