Hello All,

Like the subject line says, why the $10 difference for collector's editions? Also, Best Buy has in-store pickup on the day while Gamestop does not.  Am I missing something?  And just to clarify, this isn't a hate thread on either company; I just want to get as much content as possible for the best deal.  From what I am seeing, Best Buy is the way to go.

My guess is that it's an error, usually CE's start at $10 more expensive than the run-of-the-mill game, and they probably put up $69.99 as their placeholder until they got confirmation, then they'll raise the price to $79.99.

...or this is some special promo that BestBuy is having for ME3. Who knows? :P

But my best guess is that this is an error. My advice, buy this now while the price is cheap! Retailers will usually honor the previous price even if it goes up. Usually.  :o:devil:

They just decided to sell it for less, its like how the Brits (if I remember right) are being charged almost $25 more. As of right there isn't any pre-order bonus from any store that I have seen, but that will probably change much to my dismay.

Gamestop rips you off plain and simple.

True, though most of the time they have the best preorder incentives.  Though BestBuy is starting to offer it's own, as is Wal-Mart.

This is basically my fear that Gamestop is going to have some better incentive.  But I am just going to pre-order from Best Buy and change it if I hear differently.

Try asking someone at Gamestop. If I were a manager, I would hate to be undersold by the competition. Maybe they don't know.

Did you try asking Gamespot?

No, I did not even think about asking them.  Originally I thought there was some incentive I was missing.  I'll give them a call in the morning.  Thanks Chris!

Ill def drop my amazon preorder is best buy is giving it out 10 duckets cheaper. Also if they are doing a midnight release.

I mean, they have to right? It IS a big game.

I'm sure COD and GOW did have midnight releases, right?

Thats why they do the deals to get the preorder gear from the developers. They cant compete in terms of price or customer service, so they have to dangle shiney baubles in front of your eyes.

So you're not going to confirm or deny retailer exclusive DLC?

Just saying I'm cool with pre-order DLC so long as its universal to every copy of the game; but we gamers are definitely getting sick of this retailer exclusive garbage.

i'd pay $10 more to get it at midnight though. If best buy isnt going to be open that early (late w/e) then i guess i'll be keeping my gamestop preorder. Pending any exclusive dlc of course.

Yep.  Also I'm not seeing a pc version on their list, I'll probably give them a call about it tomorrow, and cancel my amazon preorder if they come through.

Too bad I don't shop at places that give money to anti-gay politicians. I can pay an extra $10 to their competition for peace of mind.

Maybe you can get Gamestop to give you the CE 10 dollars cheaper if you show them Best Buy's price. But I trust Gamestop with my games and Best Buy with my music because i do like owning CDs too.

Remember though that GS is owned by BB so its not really competition.

Actually GS is owned by EB Games. The catch with the $10 cheaper at BB must  be made up for in the tax they charge and the shipping, because 69.99 is 1 cent under their free shipping offers.

So unfair. I have to pay the equivalent of $144 for the CE.

UK always gets ripped off.

I know the Best Buy down the street from me had a midnight release of Madden.  They had like three people in line.  I rode my bicycle down there to look.  I just laughed at the lack of people.

I already ordered and paid for my CE at Gamestop and I'm not changing it now.
