Remember though that GS is owned by BB so its not really competition.

Actually GS is owned by EB Games. The catch with the $10 cheaper at BB must  be made up for in the tax they charge and the shipping, because 69.99 is 1 cent under their free shipping offers.

It's the other way around.  All the EB games turned into Gamestops.  Before the merger the mall near me had both, now they are both Gamestops.

Ah, thought it was the other way around, I stand corrected.

So unfair. I have to pay the equivalent of $144 for the CE.

UK always gets ripped off.

Whaaaat?! Thats insane. Man I complain about the recent $10 price hike for most games here, I would need a second job to support my gaming habit if games cost 2x what they do now.

I can think of very, VERY few games I have ever purchased that I would consider worth that price...and each of those games has massive amounts of content and replayability. Not exactly two things the ME series has offered so far. Thats robbery, especially with EA nickle and diming you on every little tidbit of "extra" content.

If you order it now at the advertised price before they change it, if they do, they have to sell at that because it was advertised as that much when you made your order. Or so I thought that's how things were. Just an fyi if you did decide to go that route.

And to the thing about Gamestop not having in store pickup. Yea, they do. I was worried about the same thing so I went and asked. The guy checked and told me that there will be in-store pickup for it.

I'm sticking with my Amazon preorder. They have preorder price guarantee and release day delivery (usually). So if the price goes before release day (or even on release day) you get the lower price.

I'm with one of the above posters though, I really hate the merchant specific dlc crap.

i'd pay $10 more to get it at midnight though. If best buy isnt going to be open that early (late w/e) then i guess i'll be keeping my gamestop preorder. Pending any exclusive dlc of course.

I know the Best Buy down the street from me had a midnight release of Madden.  They had like three people in line.  I rode my bicycle down there to look.  I just laughed at the lack of people.

I already ordered and paid for my CE at Gamestop and I'm not changing it now.

Hmm...I hadn't noticed my Best Buy doin that. I'll have to go check. The gamestop and best buy by me are 100 yards apart lol

Doesn't really matter actually.  Before, in the US, there were Electronics Boutique, GameStop, FuncoLand and Planet X, etc., then EB bought anybody, and basically every videogames store is the same company and a huge monopoly exists in video games other than the huge electronic retailers/megamarts like BestBuy or Wal-Mart.

But, I'm keeping my GameStop preorder, they have the best incentives and really I like GameStops service better than BestBuy.
