ME3 starts with reaper attack on earth right? So millions must be dying every day untill Shepard save the earth. Now the problem is obvious, every minute Shepard spend doing side missions like turn off the beacon, stop the smugglers, pick up the package people are dying back on earth. So is it practical to do side missions while finding a way to stop the Reapers?

Is it practical to do side missions while Saren is searching for the Conduit or the Collectors are exterminating humanity? Not really, so that's why I think there will be side missions in ME3 as well.

Well one could hope that there would be enough story content that side missions would not be necessary or at least sidemissions could perhaps be for "upgrades" to either personal weapons or the fleet then they would have a point.

Even though a war is going on people are still going to need certain things accomplished in order to win that war. Like if you have to go and sabotage a base that may be supplying resources to the Reapers. Maybe even thin the Cerberus troops at their locations because of the hinderance they're causing on your main mission. I'm expecting side missions that have a correlation to the story however, I want nonsensical side missions as well since this is the closing of Shep's chapter. If it extends my gameplay I want it all.S.A.K wrote...

I hope not.
Because i would like to every mission be worth of doing and designed well, not just some fill ups. Meaning it doesn't matter is the mission main story related or side mission, it should be it's own story allways and well design. Not go in this empty place kill 20 enemy and pick from box some empty broken bottle. Don't do pointless side missions but with something what make sense for player and are worth of doing.

Hmm I think ME3 will take ME2's path. Side missions will be there, but when a main mission is available you have to drop everything and go.

Probably. I hope they are tied into the main story though.

You didn't have to drop everything and go after the initial two story missions ^^

Well you have to go when Horizon or the collector ship mission is there. Also if you don't hurry to launch suicide mission you loose the crew!nhsk wrote...

I'm sure the story will have some adagio moments, kind of like when Harry Potter has to find out what the other Horcruxes are... yeah, THOSE kind of moments would be quite suitable to do some serious sidequesting.

Yeah they can make side missions related to the main mission.

Hey there's a whole galaxy filled with Torn Trousers that simply must be returned if we are to beat the Reapers.
