So anyway, I recently completed an Insanity playthrough on my Infilttrator, and was planning on it being my import for ME3, however thinking about it, there are a couple of different choices I want to make.
I was planning on playing through a NG+ on easy mode to set up my perfect import Shepard. Has anyone seen anything, or have any idea wether the difficulty level of a certain save file will have any effect on your import into ME3? (ie. additional starting rescources/credits etc.)
I'm guessing there will be no impact whatsoever, however I just wanted to make sure!
Insanity play-through or regular play-through to import to ME3?

If its like the ME1 > ME2 import, difficulty will have no bearing, but completing the side quests and being max level will.
So i'd go with a normal playthrough with all the choices you desire for your "perfect" import.

Awesome, I assumed so. I'm on PS3, so not exactly sure how it worked. Thanks for the clarification!

mm. that's not totally correct, but good enough. Meaning it's all about choises, not difficulty.
It's true that difficulty it self has no meaning to import, but difficulty could have in very rare cases some affect. Example item like Geth Pulse Rifle. Not sure how this works related ME3. I my self don't remember is there anything else affected by difficulty than this one item?

Since you're on PS3, it doesn't matter whether you do NG+ or a regular new game. NG+ basically affects combat difficulty and little else; your morality and choices should have as much freedom as they do in a regular new game.
If you had been on 360 or PC and imported an ME1 save, though, the NG+ would be inferior, because ME1 imports give you more flexibility with regard to morality - you have a cushion, so to speak.

That's absolutely the only thing I can think of. Whilst it's been said that all ME2 weapons will appear in ME3, I'll be surprised if they actually "carry over", given the Normandy has been seized and partially re-built by the Alliance (and no doubt they took all your nice upgraded guns to have a good look at), and that Shepard appears to start out unarmoured and lightly armed.
I think it's probably for the best, that way.
