I'm glad Bioware went for the most minor feature imaginable. A feature doesn't even require Kinect.

Actually, it does, and they're not.

Voice- Kinect is doing all the hard work so that Bioware doesn't have to delay the game by some crazy amount so they can develop their own way of doing it.

Interactivity- Its already been said that they aren't stopping at just voice commands. The Galaxy Map was already mentioned as a possibility to have Kinect support.

I LOVE the picture. Moving on, I was against Kinect at first, but I don't mind it now, as long as it means that the none Kinect players don't miss out on anything.

Whatever.

Its optional. Microsoft waved with a big check of money and EA accepted it...I cant blame em for it.

Pretty much this. I have kinect so I'm hoping it will provide more immersion and I'm pretty excited about it.

Voice recognition is not perfect. I always think it will end up like that.

Don't really care, just think it is silly if I can't use my regular headset for my x-box controller to issue commands. Way to try forcing people into buying kinect, really annoyed I went with Xbox instead of PS3...

But at least I got ME1 :-)

Seems like the voice command system will lead to more frustration then fun.

I don't know about you guys, but when I'm playing vidya at 3am I don't enunciate very well.

Ahh yes, Riferine.....I mean Lifeline.

That's not Kinect. Trust me, Kinect's voice recognition is MUCH better than that.

I'll probably be getting ME3, pending many reviews as im not exactly sold on it yet, for the PC as my Xbox is the old type with the fan which sounds like its going to take-off and it's quite noisy now, so I'll probably not be using Kinect unless MS release a version for PC.

Kinect for me seems to have underachieved badly, it was sold as a 'new way to play games' or something similar, now everyone is back peddling and saying that you're no longer the controller but you can, and for serious gamers read must, use a controller as well - see Forza4 for an example.

I'd have to see it running to get a good idea of how well its integrated but like I said I can't see me getting a new Xbox, and unless MS release a version for PC it's really a mute point anyway.

It's clearly a gimmick, i have heard a lot of talk about microsoft really pushing kinect on devs. recently, so i am just glad it's not a gamebreaker.

The worry is how long before we get 'Kinect exclusive' titles? How much money would be enough for MS to get this through?

And by this I mean mainstream games not dancing etc?

Voice - I'm assuming you mean that it is easier to program voice commands using Kinect. That sounds logical, but honestly it doesn't seem like that unique of a feature. Any game with microphone support can include voice commands. Although if Kinect makes programming voice commands easier at least we don't need to feel bothered about Bioware spending extra time on it.

Interactivity - Well the Galaxy Map sounds like something that might genuinely be different using Kinect. That's something that seems like it might be properly supporting Kinect.

Regardless the Kinect features don't really seem like they're even worth a second though. They're just there. To be honest in my opinion any discussion about Kinect in Mass Effect 3 will end up being being more about Kinect than Mass Effect 3 considering how minor a role Kinect plays in the upcoming title.

I think the tactical side of it will be really cool, faster tactical shooting for harder settings etc.. I'm personally looking forward to it, As long as it's not taking anything away from the game, Then i'm happy.

You playing ME1 won't help you with a PS3.  You will still miss over 80% of the game's missions and those choices will matter in ME3.

I have a Kinect, but I probably won't use it for ME3.  Maybe after I played it several times, so I know what I want each squad to do.  I talk to much at my games to myself when playing, to have the Kinect hooked up to my Xbox.

If there is Kenect support, it will support motion as well as voice right? If its only voice its useless!

It's only voice, And no it's not useless, It will be very effective for fast precise attacks from your team mates and you will be able to focus on shooting than pressing buttons to control powers from your team mates which is a massive bonus :)

The reason you can't do it with a headset is because the Kinect unit itself does all the voice recognition. Endwar and Rainbow Six Vegas had voice support but Ubisoft had to code it all themselves. Voice recognition on the Kinect is all done with the Kinect SDK meaning that 99% of the legwork is alread done. Pretty much all "I can use a headset" and "waste of developer time" arguments are invalid.

My personal opinion is that although it's a blatant Kinect publicity stunt it's a feature I would find myself using and it would stop me from pausing most of the time to issue orders. I reckon there is a fair bit of bias for people that don't have a Kinect to object to its inclusion in ME3 and write it off as a waste of time.

I have the Kinect and find it very inaccurate and senstive to lighting conditions. Anytime your hands get in front of your body it loses tracking. I've moved it and gone through the setup multiple times. Conceptually it is a cool device but it is not ready for prime time. Maybe I'll have better luck with voice commands but if you are required to proceed all commands by saying 'Kinect' it will get old fast.
