As we all know, Mass Effect 3 will be the end of Commander Shepard's arduous journey through mass relays, death and some more mass relays towards the near-destruction of the galaxy and its civilizations by the hands... er, tentacles of the Reapers and their corrupted cyberhusk minions. However, Ray Muzyuka and Greg Zeschuk have both expressed an interest in exploring other venues of the Mass Effect universe when the trilogy is complete, which of course begs the question:

Where will they go from here?

What would you like to see in future Mass Effect games? Which genres would you like the franchise to explore? Would you like to see Gaiden (side story) games, for example Garrus time on Omega? Or would you prefer games that explored previous events in the ME history (Prothean Extinction, Rachni Wars, Krogan Rebellions, First Contact War, etc)?

Drop your suggestions here for posterity.

Personally, I could kill for a Mass Effect 4X game where you can play through historical scenarios or just go crazy and make your own.

I'd like to see Mass Effect: Origins. Specifically, the multi-race character creation aspect of Origins. Since Spectre's can be drawn from a large variety of races, creating an Spectre of your chosen race and class could lead to a very interesting game.

It would be a waste to abandon the sucessfull ME concept after ME3, even if that game won't sell, wich it seems it will do anyway.

Mass Effect Origins could be a awesome game. Ther may have been practical reasons for limiting our choices to humans but playing as a alien and explore their cultures and habits in the process is what would realy bring the ME universe to it's full potential. Especialy if the story spans over a decade or so like DA2 so we can follow our hero go from the rookie to the veteran spectre.

Please don't make it a MMO though, I don't want to pay for playing with Hawtsasari and Suparkrogen.

Mass Effect 4 MMORPGTPSRTS and you can import your Shepard, but play as either new human( male/female), Turian( male/female), Salarian( male), Asari( female), Quarian( male/female), Krogan( male/female) or Geth.

Okay, I admit it: If there are female krogan and turians I may buy it even if it is a MMOetc.

As a Krogan female, I doubt you'd get much accomplished, since every Krogan male in the vicinity would be hounding you to bear their children. I guess kidnapping (and several other unsavory topics) could be part of the story.

A new game in which you're allowed to choose from some of the different races and it should be an RPG not an MMO and it also shouldn't have MP. They should stay away from MP IMO, I don't think it will work especially if it just turns out to be a cheap copy of some other game's multiplayer.

I actually made a thread on this is ME2 General DIscussion. I would love to see something based on just one planet. Have you looked at the size of the Citadel lately? Or Illium (with this you could use the whole planet)? They could make a HUGE map, all of it relatively familiar. Import ME3 settings, but you play as someone completely unrelated. And it would be cool if the timeline was concurrent with the trilogy so you see these things (like the fall of Sovereign) that you did in the trilogy.

Well, I guess the MMO is gonna come our way eventually, mainly because when Casey was asked about it he said it would "make sense" in terms of the universe they've built.

However i'd imagine that a spin off SP story set on the Citadel, with a built-from-the-ground-up multiplayer mode included will be first on the list. MP seems like something they're pretty desperate to do within this IP.

I find this very sad. Mass effect is the only NON-fantasy RPG I've ever played (I've never encountrered KOTOR). I want more RPG!

I really don't care. Not in 'I don't care, I'll buy it anyway.'. More like 'I don't care what they do, I'm not give it much of my attention.'. I've yet to see if ME3 is gonna turn out well, and then they I have to see if there's something that can top any game of the trilogy and doesn't look milked.

as far as i'm concerned, they can make something similar to me1/me2/me3 and just refine all the elements (BOTH RPG and SHOOTER) and all the features. they said me3 is the end on the story with Shepard so they can actually make a new story, in a new galaxy, doesnt matter if its X years before or after Shepard's story, they can introduce new races or completely introduce just new species, and a whole new different threat.

as with the option to choose your own race, that's always a nice feature for RPGs. Customization is always great (looks, attitude, armor, weapons, powers, companions, etc)

I'd just hate it if they completely go some opposite way and change everything. We all came to love the 3rd person shooter/cover, RPG/shooter that the current Mass Effect series is and i'd just be sad if they wont stay like that or something similar.

MMOs are hits and misses and i'd rather have another great single-player game than take the risk of getting into the MMO genre.

The important thing is that they write ME3 as a proper conclusion, rather than compromising it to set up future games.

I would DEFINITELY love a crysis 2-like first person shooter set during the siege of earth

I'm seeing a very linear line of thinking here. You realize the continuation of the franchise doesn't necessarily have to be just roleplaying games in the vein of the ME trilogy? As I said, a Mass Effect 4X game would be absolutely goddamn brilliant, and with the right devs and some innovative ideas an RTS or TBS could work too.

I wouldn't mind seeing a game based around the time period of one of the species that was wiped out before the Prothean.

Either that or a Republic Commando like 1st person shooter where you control a squad...

Unlikely, but an RTS could work. Maybe a space sim or something.

OK then.

Morning War: The Geth Rebellions

You play 2 campaigns.
1st with Elite Quarian squad leader( capable to upgrade Combat, Tech and Biotic skills), your missions is to try to secure capital city( with heavy military support) but in the end fail at it and your next missions is to evacuate as much civilians as possible and retreat.

2nd is with prototype Geth platform( can hold around 500 Geth program's) in military base. You try to save your fellow Geth but also stop in killing civilians since they don't know it's wrong thing. Also some plot twist in the end.

Co-Op and competitive multiplayer included.

Battlefield: Mass Effect

Pretty much campaign of every famous battle happen in Mass Effect universe in Battlefield style.

It doesn't have to be, but given that it was as much the presentation and genre of the game that entranced us as the setting, I think you're going to get some slightly linear answers on the Bioware forums...

I would like a game in which we start playing as a "duct rat" in the citadel, like Mouse. It could be any race. But it can't start being uber-awesome like Hawke the "refugee" who can kill an ogre. And it would be great if it could be played like a stealth game.

@Arcian. We know it does't need to be an RPG, but some of us really like RPGs ^_^.
