How about an RPG/FPS?

Or something from a completely different genre?

Like an RTS, or a pure shooter?

You could do a lot with the Mass Effect universe.

Past wars (Rachni War, Krogan Rebellions, Geth Uprising) would be easy fodder for a RST strategy game ala Starcraft. Distant and vague enough to not change anything, while still allowing flexibility (ie no matter what you campain is, it still fits within the timeline).

A post-Reaper MMORPG strikes me as a slightly less likely path. Going by a default/'game canon' interpretation, the players get a post-Reaper setting in which the galaxy, while it survived, is in considerable turmoil. Reaper technology and perhaps even a surviving Reaper or three hiding and manipulating events from behind the scenes would give a good enemy, while the post-war chaos offers every faction a chance to claim as much ground as they can.

I'd even favor the free-wheeling Renegade universe as a justification for the greater conflict: players could start as any number of species, and play accordingly without having a 'why would a Turian player fight a Human player in a Paragon Council?' mismatch.

I don't know...

ME doesn't have a timeline similar to Star Wars. As in, the humans aren't introduced till it's too late. Therefore, it's difficult to attract anyone but dedicated fans/

^We already have Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

For pure shooter, Bioware can ask DICE to make one. I would sh*t my pants if that happen.

For RTS?
If it's like Star Wars Empire at War but with diplomacy and deeper economy then yeah.

Yet again, you are missing my point. I never said they should deviate from the established parameters of the franchise (as in lore) or its style, I just said they should try out the game in different genres.

Actually, I think the Mass Effect could use a change in the art style, I'm a little tired of it an it looks too generic sci-fi for my taste (I should get one of those flame retardant suits ), I would like them to try an art style more distinctive and more fitting with the themes and the grey moralities they are so proud of.

Also, if it is not to much to ask, I would like not to play as a military, spy, specter or anything related to de government that allows you to act with impunity, I am really really really tired of that.

And one more thing, for once I would like a main character wich is not an expert in combat, in fact I would prefer if he/she couldn't fight at all and play a game more like The Longest Journey in the Mass Effect universe, but with moral choices and RPG elements, but I know that is never going to happen. Too many fans of Chuck Norris I guess.

Well, it's not just that... in Biowares case... most of the heroes have had combat abilities to some extent(either hand to hand, ranged, or magical). They do improve overtime though. I wouldn't call it Chuck Norrisy... seriously, set your game to insane if you haven't all ready. AI is way hard and makes the team look like weaklings. I doubt that with a franchise like this, they'd make a straight RPG with very little combat. It's a hybrid 3PS and RPG... take out the 3PS and you lose a major part of what makes the game special... at least I think so.

As for the art style... they "improve" with each game graphically... but they've all ready established some pretty neat looking creatures. I don't see them pulling a DA2 and changing the look of existing aliens and settings too much... maybe just add some high res textures and create new races. ME2 added Thane, the Vorcha and the Batarians... I'm sure we'll see new aliens in ME3 too.
