Update: I want everyone to know that my question has been answered. Thank you, GhostwriterDoF for giving me the answer to manually installing the Pinnacle Station DLC. You will need Origin before you manually install the DLC if you have a physical copy of ME1. Here's his solution:

Original post: I have a physical copy of ME1 for the PC and thinking about getting the Pinnacle Station dlc for the game. Do I have to download EA's Origin (EADM) to install it into my game?

EA's webstore is the only source I know of to get that DLC, so probably will have to use Origin to get it. Its not worth it in my opinion as its just an overglorified holodeck and a bunch of pew-pew challenges.

Couldnt answer that sorry. I dont know how the Origin system works as I dont have it on my system.

Well, since EA is the only place you can get Pinnacle Station, and they are offering it exclusively through Origin (formerly known as EA Download Manager), I'd say with 99.99% certainty that you'll have to get it through Origin. Exclusively.

Thanks, Baramon for helping. I just wish I could get this dlc from this website for ME1 instead of resorting to using EA's Origin to install Pinnacle Station.

I downloaded Pinnacle Station from the pre-Origin EA Download Manager, although I have Origin installed now after I updated recently. When I downloaded this DLC, I found the file and installed it manually, not through the EADM.
If you decide to get Pinnacle Station, you can find the file that Origin downloads to your PC in the
C:\\ProgramData\\Origin\\cache\\{ YourAccountEmail } folder.

The { YourAccountEmail } folder would be the email address you used to make the purchase from EA.
The DLC doesn’t add much to Mass Effect but, the fire-fights are fun. As part of the reward for completing the mission you get a place to re-stock grenades, which is why I got the DLC, since I like to use the grenades a lot. The extra experience points come in handy too, although, if you get out of the Mako often in combat whilst exploring, you earn more points for your kills, rather than using the Mako’s heavy cannon. Use the Mako cannon to soften up Colossus mechs and Thresher Maws and then hop out to finish them off.

What I did to install this DLC, is the same with any other DLC content or mods that I download for other games or programs I’m running. I copy the file to a temporary folder and then double click on them to install them. You can just double click on the file once you find it where it is.

lol so Steam players cannot play the Pinnacle Station DLC i guess?

You guess wrong. You just cant buy it from Steam. You have never been able to buy any ME/ME2 DLC from Steam. That doesnt mean you cant play them on the Steam delivered game.

I bought the Steam version of ME, and it came with the BDtS DLC as a bonus. Due to the loss of online CD keys through the hacking incident, I had to contact EA Support to get a new CD key for BDtS. As for Pinnacle, that has to be downloaded through Origin. Once you get the installation file and CD key through Origin, you can use them, manually, anytime you wish.
