she was my romance choice in ME1...but i played lotSB and i cant bring myself to say id pick her again in me3...(granted at the time i hadnt romanced anyone in ME2 yet so i thought, meh why not lol)

I preferred the shy aloof scientist over the cold, calculating, and  psychopathy obsessed with the SB person she was in ME2....with that insane drive you would think she would go for the drell she obsessed over for 2 years

personally i went for tali in ME2 (after i re-romanced liara in lotSB...kinda curious how that's going to play out) just because you either choose, miranda whos ego did nothing but ****** me off, jack......not my cup of tea..., or her and she kind of reminded me of liara from ME1 with the aloof type personality.

just curious if anyone else had the same feeling

Yeah I kinda did. I left her for Miranda. I want shep to have human children, but Miranda has that problem I want to go for Kelly or Ashley now.

Nope, I myself prefer the more callous Liara myself.

I actually liked her better in ME2/LotSB.

i actually let Ashley live in my recent "perfect" ME1 play though i made to carry on to my perfect ME2...ect.. on the hopes that she would have a drastic character change as well, quite frankly between the attitude and the damn poetry if she doesn't change I'm going to regret saving her and not kiden

Liara always.
She seemed more in tune with my Sheps attitude after LotSB.

i thought her change was a little too much, but no one would be the same after participating in the events of ME1. i never romanced her, but the stellar writing that produced "it's been too long, Ash, how have you been?.....duuuuu" wasn't much better...

I didn't really care as much about the romances in ME2 as I did in ME1,probably because the way they were structured.

In ME2 it's like

"Shepard I'm not really interested in you"

*does Loyalty mission*

"Shepard I have feelings for you now!!!"

I got the feeling most of them only gave Shepard a chance because they felt they owed it to him/her after helping them.

I did.

I'm all for character development, but turning the softest character from the original game into a shallow, cold-blooded killer in a time-span of 2 years is a bit much in my opinion.

Didn't lose interest really. Of all the character missions, they seemed to put the most into hers. Not just LotSB but also the two missions beforehand. She seems the most developed in terms of story. I'm kind of hoping that they expand on it further. Although, not really looking forward to it that much since my Renegade Shepard romanced her in ME1 only to romance her again in ME2 right before romancing Jack... that's gonna be an odd conversation.

No way. If anything her being a bit cold made me pushed me harder into caring for her, especially after finding out the root of that cold nature.

you would be surprised at how much someone can change with the loss of a loved one.

I didn't had any interest to her until LotSB.

Unfortunately that gave negativity too, do to favoritism.

She has disturbing issues that need working out if she was that distraught over the death of my pro-human Shepard who, at every possible opportunity, verbally berated her and her species.

Just saying'.

How would you respond when some secret black ops organisation you had scuffles with in the past claimed they might be able to bring back a loved one? I for one would not get my hopes up.

If anything, LotSB further fueled my interest in her. I romanced her in ME1 and ME2. I will continue to do so in ME3. Despite the shift in paradigm, we continue to find ways to relate.

By the time of the release of the Shadow Broker DLC, I had completely lost interest in Liara. Oh well.

EDIT: I was also pissed that she got to keep her cool powers from ME1, making her a proper Adept squadmate, while my other equally-powerful biotic squadmates got the shaft, in terms of power-balance.

Nope. I think she became a more complete, balanced character in ME2. It doesn't, however, surprise me that the 'change' bothered a lot of people who liked her for the perceived innocence of her character in ME1.
