Technically I think it's a reskin of the cerberus one with the a collar, so it's not like it's super special unique or anything, but it'd be nice to have an outfit you could wear on the ship that says "soldier" and doesn't have 200 cerberus logos per square inch.

Dont forget she also lost her mother, and those people who were with Benezia probably she also knew since she was a child.ladyvader wrote...
She only went through all of that because she couldn't let Shepard go. That was grief. You are right in a way, the dirty dealings didn't help her any.Knight of Dane wrote...
Honestly i don't think it was Shepards death that changed her, i think it was the process of getting her/his body back. The dirty business with Cerberus, the SBroker and Feron had to be pretty rough business and this time on her own and not just as a follower of her commander.ladyvader wrote...
I don't think it was that sudden. It's been two years not two week or a couple of months. Poeple can change a lot in two years. Especially if that person is mourning the loss of a loved one and just couldn't let go. Which is the case with Liara whether or not she was Shepard's LI.Knight of Dane wrote...
Nah, i think her development into a ruthless information broker was a little sudden and quite big, but it didn't make me dislike her in any way.
I still prefer Liara over the other LI and i still prefer the old Liara, but my Liara loving shep keeps her as the LI..
All together teached her that the universe can be a hard place, and that u cant be all innocent and weak in a place like that

i romanced her in ME1 my first time through because honestly between her and ashley (who reminded me of a man) there wasnt much choice there. as it stands though i didnt really like her personality in either game and thus led me to fall for miranda and hopefully get to keep it that way. she has a personality i like and can relate too, just hoping that it can continue through ME3

How many Liara hate threads can there be! She seems to have usurped Tali.
I'm not sure if this is a 'hate' thread. For me, I just felt that after meeting Liara in ME2, her personality change was quite disconcerting. I can see Bioware had to do something to avoid her joining Shepard on the mission where she could die (as she is required in ME3), but here is how I felt Shepard's conversation went, when they first meet again in Liara's office...
Shepard:
Liara: Ah yes Shepard, I see you are back on your feet again after seeing your crew die, suffocating in deep space, burning up in re-entry, and surviving an impact onto a rocky planets surface at Mach 7. Anyway, lets talk about me and MY problems...
Shepard:
(Shepard leaves Liara's office, follows up Liara's leads and can't determine the source of the information leak).
Shepard: Liara, I just don't think it is any of these people I am watching.
Liara: Ah, I think I know where the leak is. Just give me a second. You can come back to the office now.
(Shepard returns to Liara's office)
Shepard: Ah, so you think you know the source of the leak?
Liara: Yes, it was my secratary.
Shepard: I see. Where is she?
Liara: Oh, as I didn't have any weapons to hand, I turned her inside out with my biotic powers and stuffed her into my desk draw.
Shepard:
Liara: No, I need to google "Shadow Broker" and find out where he is so I can kill him
Shepard: No problem. I will....just...leave you to your.....work then......See you later
Liara: Yeah, whatever, Shepard....

you would be surprised at how much someone can change with the loss of a loved one.
she was told that he was coming back tho
Get your facts straight. She wasnt told anything other than that "we'll try to bring him back". When he DID come back she wasnt told by Cerberus due to the fact their sources stated she may be working for the shadow broker. Bear in mind these things are before the DLC i.e before they got info that confirmed she was actually after him.
That said, she lost the dearest person to her, had the toughest months after that fighting to bring him back, only to be forced to give him away to Cerberus, not to mention someone sacrificing himself so she would be safe.
This thread is so full of facepalm it's pathetic. Her writing was and IS better than any of the companions in both games. You can cry about it or here's an idea - DEAL WITH IT.
Also no, after the events of LotSB it drew me even closer, yeah I guess having an open mind and knowledge about writing can do that to me.
Me myself I romanced Ash in the first game and prefer jack for second. Ive romanced everyone in many many playthroughs and I will say this : Liara's pivotal moments during the events of LotSB simpy overwhelm anything or anyone else. Kudos to Bioware!!
No kudos for haters.

Well that answers that question!
I always wondered what Liara managed to do with the body in the approximately 45 seconds it took me to go from phoning her with the answer to arriving back at her office!
Personally this just made me like Liara more, but there you go

She IS a interesting character however and I don't hold any grudges against her. It's nice to know she's covering Shepard's back - both as squadmate and Shadowbroker.
Therefore I didn't lost interest in Liara as a character, as a friend.

I have to agree, this was truly one of the most cringe worthy moments in game. While I could take her flip in character with everything going on, especially her new-found position on Illium where if she appeared sweet and innocent as she did in ME1, she wouldn't survive for very long.I mean the "completely ignoring the romance" part of her character. "I can't talk about our relationship because the Broker might be listening in, but I'll happily discuss with you my plans to kill the Broker!" It made no sense.
So really, half of what they spoke of made no real sense. Pointless waste of her screen time, especially for those of us who romanced her. We didn't come all the way down there to talk about data!

I propose that you wait. Miranda's problem might have a solution.atheelogos wrote...
I did. I left her for Miranda... lol And I'm thinking of leaving Miranda for Kelly.
As for Liara, I almost cannot express how much more I like her ME2 personality. In ME1, I couldn't care less about her. In ME2, while she's not my LI, I'm glad to have her as a friend who understands the choices my Shepards must sometimes take. My only fear is that she'll overshadow everyone else. That I wouldn't like.

If anything, ME2 Liara made me more interested in her character, though not much.
LotSB Liara almost made me like her, but Bioware's Liara favoritism just damaged my appreciation for her.
