Anyone who reckons he isn't good enough for Miranda but reckons he is good enough for FemShep, can just **** off regardless of voice actor.

No. You can't be upset at the VA, you have to look at how cliche the writting was which made the character seem not important. A person who's angry because of no father figure in his life? Abandonment issues? It should have been something dealing with his dislike of Cerberus and their practices. Jacob had a strong moral code that could've been expanded on. But the VA can only work with what he's given. Voice was fine and matched his appearance. If the lines change and setting in which those lines were delivered changed then it could have expressed a more complex character. Think if Sean Connery had been cast in the "Lethal Weapon" movies. It would have been terrible. A actor or actress can only work with what they're given unless BW allows for improv and adlib.

I'll add my vote to those who thought Jacob's VO was good. I actually didn't even mind Jacob as a character, although being a rather ordinary jock on a crew full of psycho misfits makes him seem rather dull by comparison.

Since his voice actor isn't writing the lines, I don't see a problem there. Give the writer a smack in the face instead.

I think he's a good character. Maybe its just cuz I was military, so I relate to him. Most people just don't seem to get him. But most people don't have half a clue what goes on in our (soldiers') heads anyways so its not surprising. I think the only problem is that he's really the only realistic character in the game full of superfiction. He was the only new character I was certain wouldn't stab me in the back.

Maybe people think he's "boring" because he's the most emotionally stable character, probably ever, in a BW game. He's normal. Reliable. Nothing wrong with that.

I'd actually have to agree, even though I didn't find him exactly interesting I did find him trustworthy and a pretty nice guy, even if his character needs to be spiced up a little.

Jacob's VA was fine, the lines writing and character was just dull and boring. He was normal and in Sci-Fi that doesn't work all too well, you need to have some kind of flaw or problem. Jacob's a man, screw the problems, let's get this done. A position I wholeheartedly support. It does make him a bit dull though in a crew full of people who have all the problems in the galaxy.

I don't really think the character needs anything.  I honestly think, in this instance, its the audience.  I just don't think he's understood.  I think his writing and VA is exactly what BW wanted him to be.  The issue is whether or not that is a good thing for a video game where everyone is some super overdramatized element of the human psyche.  Its ironic that people are more able to relate to the mess of bipolar drama queens that make up the game, but the one person that is actually realistic just goes right over...

Not gonna happen. First, JT's ME2 VA was on point. Second, Jacob is not likely getting a new VA. Adam Lazarre -White is currently listed on IMDB for Jacob's VA in ME3.

I suggest you leave Morgan Freeman out of this. Morgan Freeman's voice can do anything it wants. Morgan Freeman doesn't walk, he just simply floats a few inches above the ground from one place ot the next. He even narrates his daily routine.

"Today. I am brushing my teeth. Listen to the sound of the bristles, brushing against my teeth."

LOL!!  that was just plain funny.    yeah, Morgan Freeman kicks ****. 

As for the VO for Jacob, I thought he did just fine.

Actually I think his voice actor is fine. It seems to be more a problem with his voice director than anything else. (it doesn't help he got some of the stupidest dialogue. "The prize" indeed.)

I'd rather they changed Jacob's face to look like his VA. They did it (sort of) for Miranda. Why not Jacob?
