Hey guys if they make a Mass Effect movie do you think Kate Beckinsale would make a good Miranda Lawson. I think even though she isn't the model or actress who played her in the game, she looks and embodies enough of the character to play here as shown in this link here darkwilliam1973.deviantart.com/#/d3kgv00. What do you guys think much like the character she is  perfect in everyway like Miranda is.

I know that usd Yvonne but Kate Beckinsale is a more well know actress who looks beyond beautiful in everyway possible. Yvonne is beautiful too but Kate in my own opinion is more beautiful and seems good for it also if they can't get Yvonne, she in real life seems to perfect to even be natural, so the character role fits. Also as in seen underworld the character of Selene seems similar to Miranada Lawson in everyway being a strong and beautiful woman. Also with casting like Kate more people will see the movie just for the big name attached to it.

Or they could do like they usually do, take a book/game etc and then just use the general premise and use heaps of artistic licence to do what they want.

Just not the same without Yvonne...sorry, OP. Nobody will ever play Lazarus Project Director Officer Miranda Lawson better than Miss Yvonne Strahovski. If anyone does, it'll be an imitation - a phony. It's like your German Shepard (haha) dying and then getting a new German Shepard. Just isn't the same thing. Sure, you may grow to love the new dog but deep down you know the original is #1.

It's not just appearances - don't forget Yvonne has a very distinctive voice - at least to us Americans. I'm not sure how distinctive she is to native Aussies.

As others have said, she was based on Yvonne Strahovski so it would be better if they went with her.

I think I read that it wasn't going to be Shepards story somewhere, not sure if it was official. It would be best if it wasn't IMO not only because it would screw up the "there is no cannon" they keep saying but because movies from games pretty much always suck, screw up the story and any fan of mass effect would already have experienced that story via the game anyway. A movie doing another story in same universe would be better.

I'm going to be lynched by certain fans, but yes, I think Kate Beckinsale would make a VERY good Miranda in a Mass Effect movie.

Of course it helps that I like the non-ME-stuff she's made, whilst I dislike the non-ME stuff Strahovski has made.

Though this one has gotten very much used to Strahovski's face in the game nonetheless

She's alright.  Let me guess, you're one of those emo kids that got all gooey over her cuz she played a vampire in a cat suit?  Her booty isn't big enough to fill Miranda.  FYI, Selene wasn't strong.  She was cheesy like every other superhuman vampire fairy.

Somewhat irrelevant topic since we know already the movie is taking place before the events of Mass Effect 1 - purportedly during the Relay 314 incident.

As such, neither Miranda nor Shepard are alive (or if they are, they're infants). About the most we could expect to see is a very young Saren and a very young Anderson.

Yes, Kate Beckinsale would do a fine job, IMO.

However, the character was voiced by Yvonne Stahovski, so she might be a better choice.

I doubt Miranda would be in a Mass Effect movie. If she were though, yeah they should get Yvonne, since she's normally a screen actress anyways and it is her face after all.

I would rather have a forced, canonical movie adaption of ME before a story set in the FCW.
