Do you think Kate Beckinsale would make a good Miranda Lawson in a Mass Effect movie?

If there was an ME film following the trilogy events, would Mark Meer be Shepherd? I'd prefer Jennifer Hale. And yes sure her surname is hard to pronounce but Yvonne Strahovski would be the obvious choice for Miranda. All casted people in the games should be casted in the hypothetical film (I'm not talking about the First Contact Mass Effect film before any of you choose to correct me).
Neither of them should be Shepard.
Both are good voice actors but they'd be wrong for the role. Neither really looks anything like the characters they voice, and both are known for their voice work in video games, not for work in movies.
If movies were made about the Shepard trilogy they would go with an actor that has experience in TV or movies, rather than casting a voice actor.

A movie needs a female Shepard. Having the hero as a stereotypical badass marine would not carry the story, and I don't trust any Hollwood writers to give the story that kind of credit with a male soldier as the protagonist. Make them think a little harder while they write it

Who do you think should play as TIM?
Anyways this topic is rather silly. Yvone Strahovski, as others have stated, is Miranda. This is all irrelavent of couse if they make the movie where she won't even be featured in it due to the timeline.

Also: I'm not sure why everyone wants there to be a movie set during the games, to me it makes alot more sense to make it during the first contact war, this will let them set the context of the movie without lengthy written introductions (though of course it could be easily done without wasting too much time) and they don't have to worry about messing with continuity.
FYI: I would really love to see a trilogy of movies for the series (or a good high budget HBO show) but the way things go I think that showing the first contact war would work better and maybe if things work out right then a trilogy for the games after it.

Hey guys if they make a Mass Effect movie do you think Kate Beckinsale would make a good Miranda Lawson. I think even though she isn't the model or actress who played her in the game, she looks and embodies enough of the character to play here as shown in this link here darkwilliam1973.deviantart.com/#/d3kgv00. What do you guys think much like the character she is perfect in everyway like Miranda is.
No, but Kate as a new character... heck yeah!

Kate's a bit old for the role by now, IMO.

I disagree.
I think the female heroine has been kind of done so much with video game to film adaptations, that it has sort of become a cliche. (Resident Evil, Bloodrayne, Tomb Raider, Silent Hill)
If a Mass Effect movie where made about Shepard (unlikely), I think it should be the male version.

Random fact nobody probably cares much about: I actually based the appearance of the main asari character in my fan novel (Mass Effect: Digression) on Kate after watching Underworld again while I was trying to figure how she looked. *snipe*
Kate's work in the Underworld films feel to me like playing an Asari, would be believable and reasonable in the ME universe, IMHO at least.

Just not the same without Yvonne...sorry, OP. Nobody will ever play Lazarus Project Director Officer Miranda Lawson better than Miss Yvonne Strahovski. If anyone does, it'll be an imitation - a phony. It's like your German Shepard (haha) dying and then getting a new German Shepard. Just isn't the same thing. Sure, you may grow to love the new dog but deep down you know the original is #1.
It's not just appearances - don't forget Yvonne has a very distinctive voice - at least to us Americans. I'm not sure how distinctive she is to native Aussies.
now I miss my first dog even more.

I doubt the movie will even take place during any part of Shepard's story anyway.
This. I think it will have something to do with the first contact war.
The first movie will. If successful, the next might deal with Shep.

Yvonne Strahovski, however, would've been an even better voice for Commander Shepard than Jennifer Hale. In addition to being Miranda Lawson. The only reason I was able to like Miranda was because Strahovski salvaged her crap material.
