They can't base a film on the games due to the variety of the choices we can make. It needs a seperate story line other than Shepards.

My stance is this:
If there's any characters from the games that would appear in a potential movie, and those characters were voiced by people who do screen acting, such characters should be played by the person who provided their voice.
Miranda falls under this, so no, I don't think Kate Beckinsale would make a good Miranda.
Another character i classify as such is Anderson. Keith David is known for both his screen acting and voice acting, plus he could pull off the look.
